In paying my monthly mortgage, I mailed it the 31st and July and it was just returned to me today...August 14. It was returned to me because the amount on the check was written for $1 less than supposed to be.
It is Saturday, the customer service dept. is closed, and I would like to pay my mortgage online, but the website will not accept my loan #. I have confirmed it and retyped it several times.
Is this a way of charing a late fee?
Also, in having my taxes prepared, this company has not reported any of my payments to the IRS...is this something they can do legally?
