loan modification with no results
Started my loan modification Feb. 2009 and have no results now as of 04-10-2010. They have told me to call my bank now and give them what they need; after in Feb., 2010, I was told nothing aditional needed. I am now receiving calls from collection company for second mortgage and no response from the first. Don't know what to do next other than legal action.

False promises/fraud
I was contacted by a Loan officer of the Mortgage Relief Law Center. I paid $3, 000 in 6/09 to get my "1st mortgage reduced to 1/2" and my 2nd mortgage reduced "to pennies on the dollar". After 9 months 3/10, and many many unreturned phone calls, emails, etc. I received noticed from Bank of America that my payment is actually INCREASING $364/month. They haven't even started on my 2nd mortgage and this is 9 months later. They are rip offs and scam artists. The woman that finally did email me after I got notified told me "accept it or lose your home". The loan officer made me MANY promises and NONE were kept. The woman informed me they are not responsible for what the Loan Officer told me...WHAT????? If anyone knows where I can file a formal complaint, please let me know. Thank you.

Loan Modification
Every complaint seen here mimics what my husband and I had experienced with Mortgage Relief Law Center. It began February 2009. We were approved through "Underwriting", provided possible outcomes, given a 60 day time frame, and guaranteed a Loan Mod or a refund. Once we paid for services upfront, their customer service stopped. We could not reach anyone and never got replies to our inquiries. No one person was working on our case. The application MRLC filed was the same document you or I could get online with the Lender. It contained numerous errors and presented no "case" for us. MRLC would not correct the errors we informed them of and took little to no action with our application. At one point it was confirmed they actually lied about re-filing with the Lender for us. Our home was not in foreclosure when we contracted with MRLC. But by June 2009 it went into foreclosure. Our home was scheduled and rescheduled for 3 sale dates (each 30 days apart). It would have gone to sale each time if it were not for our own actions with the Lender. By August it was clear we had been ripped off by MRLC and we would lose our home. We moved to a rental, placed our home for short sale, and asked MRLC for a refund. I need not say that we never got it.
If MRLC has as many clients as they say they do, then I am sure the law of averages has resulted in some successful Loan Modifications. Not due MRLC's services, but because the applications were so simple the client could have done it online themselves.
MRLC cost us our home and the initial investment we made in it. They caused us so much pain and anguish over the 8 months. I am filing complaints with the State Bar Association and Department of Consumer Affairs. I am seeking Legal representation to sue them. We need to make sure they do not take advantage of any more individuals worried about saving their homes. We all need to file complaints with these agencies.

Not living up to contract/Can't contact
MRLC is a scam. I signed on with the group in early September 09 after being told could get a loan modification in 30 days which is typical for MRLC. I paid them $2, 400. They would never update me unless I call and they wouldn't update the website with the status either. I called every two weeks like clock work and was always able to get a hold of my processor, however, starting middle November that all ended. I've called numerous times and have sent several emails and have received no response. I've trying calling the Irvine office as well as the Montclair office. I even tried calling the Paragon Law Group but that number ends up being the same as MRLC. I've contacted the Better Business Bureau and made a complaint and I've also contacted the State Bar of California, who is sending me out a complaint packet. I would strongly suggest all individuals who have been scammed by MRLC do the same, because at this time, Brian J Colomabano has no public record of discipline or administrative actions and if he wants to keep practicing law, he needs to do the ethical thing and make it right. Use can find the State Bar of California at www.calbar.ca.gov/state/calbar/calbar_home.jsp His Bar Number is 238272. Good luck everyone.

Fraud and lies
I was a witness to how this company works. If I was a consumer, I would not use their services. First of all, they are set-up illegally. The law firm is supposed to be just that, a law firm set-up to help consumers.
Unfortunately, what they do is basically have the sales representatives work for the law firm. They take all of the inbound calls. After taking your information your file is forwarded to a Clerk, who processes your payment and then sends your file to a 3rd PARTY!!!. They DONT actually handle the loan modification itself for you. They use another company.
This company is actually the LANDLORD to this attorney. As part of his leasing arrangement, he agreed to give client files to this LANDLORD to process (which means to call the clients and to call the lenders). This is against the LAW. It is UNETHICAL. You have this third party who you dont know anything about handling your CONFIDENTIAL information. They said this LANDLORD does a terrible job, but they continue to use her because of the agreement that allows them to save money. She is also supposed to forward the attorney bankruptcy cases.
In one week's time, I witnessed 2 foreclosures happen as a result of negligence (lack of work by the 3rd party/processor).
All of the Principals of this company use their initials, versus their full name. That is a hint, that they are hiding something. They have a good time in this office. Trust me, all of the money they collect from consumers, they are able to bring their pets into the office and drink beer during working hours.
Listen to me, if you are a homeowner you CAN get a loan modification on your own. Call your bank and do it yourself! If you are able to respond to this... I can get you the FREE help you need. I have so much empathy and compassion for anyone who is losing their home.
