Unauthorized charges and unfulfilled contract
The setting is view is wonderful, but the service and the venue are not set up to handle weddings. We contracted for our son's wedding while the winery was undergoing major renovation that was promised to be completed prior to our event. While the concert part appeared to be complete, the wedding facility evidently wasn't since the groom and his groomsmen were forced to change in a storage closet, therefore eliminating the customary picture taking of them together. The shuttle that we paid $150 for was not available. It is over 1/4 mile walk down a roughly paved road in formal attire, therefore forcing some of our guests not to attend. When the time came for the wedding, the minister noticed that they had not set the 100 chairs - only 80 and addition time was taken to set enough chairs. In clear view in the parking lot that we were not allowed to park, there were extra tables, chairs and other assorted items just thrown about so the photographer had to get people to posed in an area away from the junk rather than be able to take random pictures of our guests and wedding family and party. Heat lamps were charged when there was no conversation on them being additional or the fact that they were not on the contract price list. We were charged for corkage of their wines that were not part of our contract and not served. We were charged for children being part of the food service of Hors d'oeuvres that were cold and partly frozen. We were accused in an email by the catering manager of stealing liquor that was reserved for the next event and that did not happen. All liquor was managed by the winery. We have been trying to get a credit for all of these items and I was contacted by the person who did the horrible job after my letter was sent to the GM and I was told that he was no longer employed and that all inquiries must go through her. We are owed $2763.64 and are holding the money back from our credit card and filing complaints on them.
