Terrible company
I contracted a move with Move America who's coordinator contacted me two weeks before my move date to inform me the owner of the company died of a heart attack. She expressed everyone in the company was let go, and she was stayng behind to make arrangements for the moves previously scheduled. She assured me the company was returning the full balance of my move, and she had already made arrangements for their competitor to move my things under the same agreement. The second company Selfmove USA contacted me and stated all they needed was the locations to pick up and drop off. They faxed a contract for me to read and sign, which I did in good faith. I further explained that I paid for my move in full and was waiting for them to reimburse me. They told me not to worry, because it the company assure me they would return my money, I should have my money in hand by the time they deliver. They told me I didn't have pay until the trailer got to me. The truck was loaded and taken from my primisses in PA for GA. Three days before my drop off I contacted Move America to only find out the numbers had been disconnected. The company referred to me to load and unload my possession Move Staffer turned out to be a company that hired movers to load and unload trucks. I told them I would get someone here to unload and they could return my deposit for unloading. They refused stating they provided me with a service. So they kept the $150 deposit for the unloading half of the job. However, I had to add $66 to the $150 deposite for the loading. My things has arrived in Macon, Ga and are being held until I come up with another $950. I think all three of these companies are working together. I haven't the funds to get my things. Plus, they refuse to take money upon delivery. They will only accept a credit card or a deposit into their Bank of America account, and that does not guarantee my getting my possessions. I need help desperately. They won't even disclose where in Macon the terminal is located.
