Filing lawsuit and formal complaint!
I too fell for the same scam as myself. I too have called several times and have gotten the run around. I recently involved the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and movement sales responded that they would send me a refund, but not to my surprise i still have not received one. My principles are high and I intend on writing the attorney General and having my lawyer try and contact them, simply on principal! I called them again and they told me that the company's processing center went bankrupt, and they no longer could give refunds. But I spoke with my family lawyer who stated that as long as the company itself didn't go bankrupt they must honor their refund or fulfill their contract. Anyways to make a long story short, if you too have been scammed PLEASE send me your name and address and email or contact information so i could compile a large list of people who have also been scammed. Who knows you may get your money back in the end (this could become a fairly large lawsuit) anyways email me back if you would like and if not stay away from door to door magazine salesman :)

Sincerely,
Trupti Patel

Never received Magazine!
January 31st a sales man came to our door to sell us a subscription for magazines. My husband really wanted one, but the salesman told us, we would have to get at least 3 subscriptions. So we did. I waited until June, no magazines, I called the company, left a message, the next day somebody called back and apologized and they would send us the July issue. Well it's almost the end of July and I still haven't seen any of those 3 magazines. I will call again, but when I read the other complaints I have not a lot of hope that I will ever see these magazines! I know what to do next time if a salesman knocks on my door!

Pushy untruthful salesman
Last night, a young man came to the door with the same approach mentioned in other complaints. After the amounts of the magazines kept going up, I finally told him the amount I was willing to spend on magazines. He quickly drafted the sales agreement and asked for a check in that amount I agreed to spend (imagine that!)

Afterwards, he asked if my supper was done. He said that it smelled good. I told him it wasn't done. He saw a bag of chips on the counter and asked if he could have a bag of chips, too. That interaction left me feeling uncomfortable, so I "Googled" the company to find the complaints on this site. I called the company to ask about the refund policy and was told different information from the policy stated on the back of the receipt. I intend to cancel the magazines and stop payment on my check.

It's too bad- as I really liked the concept.

Fictitious magazine Sales
I had a young man come to my door saying he was not asking for donations but just trying to earn points to win a scholarship for his 1 month old daughter who was in the hospital. Said I could help him by buying magazines. I spoke with other neighbors and friends who said he had different stories. He asked me to make comments about his presentation and that I would receive a call in 3 days to confirm the order. The more I recalled his story the more fictitious it seemed. I will stop payment on my check tomorrow.

Re: Movemeant Sales, Inc.

I have not yet received my magazines. I ordered them from a very nice young lady, Jamlil Komer, who had a good story to go with her pitch. I hope she was paid well. I would like to believe that I will receive “Wired”, “Metropolitan Home” and “Bon Appetit”, none of which has gone out of business.

My order number was 128334. My order date was 1/15/07. The total, complete with process and handling fee was $89.00. If the magazines do not show up, I will expect that amount in the mail in two weeks. I am reasonably sure that a class action suit could be brought against your company, or the principals, since other dissatisfied customers are apparently easy to find.

If you wish to contact me you may do so by mail or at [email protected]

Thanks,
Leslie A. Halberg.

Magazines not received!
I ordered three subscriptions in September 2006. I called the company on March 7, 2006 and was told that the subscriptions would begin shortly. They never arrived. When the sales people, who say they are trying to better themselves, come around just say no!

The magazine was never delivered
I bought a magazine subscription through this company. The magazine was never delivered. When I called the company, they told me that I could get my money back if I sent in a copy of the cancelled check and my receipt which I did. The magazine I had ordered apparently had gone out of business.

To this date, I have not received my refund. I call them every week and they say the same thing over and over such as: "Your refund will be mailed this week, so you should get it next week". Every single time, they have told me a falsehood. It has been six weeks, no refund.

Personally, I will never again do business with Movemeant Sales, Inc.
