On March 20th 2009, I purchsed 2 extended warranties for my 2 vehicles from Carchex. One of the incentives offered with the purchase was $100 per vehicle of free gas. On Carchex website, I was able to download the rebate forms. One of the stipulations made according to the 'small print' was that the forms could not be submitted until 45 days from purchase and then there was only a 30 window to claim. At their request I waited over 45 days and on 5/12/09, I sent the 2 forms, a copy of my ID and warranty summary pages.

By 7/17 I had not heard and called them. I was told they needed and were waiting for authorization from Carchex to mail out and that MPell waits a further 6-8 weeks before they process claims.

I called Carchex, spoke to my rep David Sheridan and he said that was not true. There was NO reason to delay. I called MPell back and was told ironically the paperwork just got entered into the system.

2 weeks later, I received 2 sets of vouchers. Each set had 4 vouchers dated 8/19, 9/19, 10/19 and 11/19. The instructions explained that each month no later than 30 days from the date on the voucher, I had to mail one voucher, a copy of the warranty summary page and a gas receipt per vehicle dated after 19th for more than $25 and I would be mailed a check.

I mailed the first 2 claims ( 2 different cars remember) with all the paperwork 8/26. I followed up 2 weeks later to check they had received the claims . They told me they had and were processed 9/4 and were waiting to ship.

I received 2 checks finally 10/19 for the first set of claims. The second 2 claims were mailed 10/01. I am still waiting for the money.

The third 2 were mailed 11/6. Still waiting. The final 2 were mailed 12/7. Still waiting.

In conclusion: My purchase was 3/20/09. First check received 10/19. 7 months later. Nothing else received as yet - I am assuming I will be receiving the others some time in the future...

I can honestly say, I have never had to jump through so many hoops to get something already promised to me. Obviously many people would not have the time or patience to stay on top of all this and that is what MPell rely on.

At this rate, assuming I receive all my checks from MPell, it will be almost a year from purchase to fulfillment of rebate.
