Dear Sirs,
My wife and myself reserved room at your Timanfaya Palace Hotel through Alpha Rooms, for 3 nights from 22nd March to 25th March 2011 on a half board basis.
We have stayed at the Timanfaya before. It is a hotel catering for mature couples like ourselves. It sits very close to a nice beach, and is within easy walking distance of the town and the ferry from Fuerteventura, our main base for our stay. This hotel suits us perfectly and we booked it for specific reasons.
When we arrived at the hotel to check in it was clear there was a problem. Though the manager said there was a problem with our room, the truth is that the Hotel was overbooked.
We were given no real choice but to move to the Rubicon Palace. Though we were told that this was only 10 mins away it is in fact a 25 minute walk further out of town. Though we had a lovely room it had its problems. In our 3 nights the electricity went off on 2 nights. Also we found ourselves staying a family hotel, not what we intended.
Alfa Rooms have asked us to give them feedback from our stay. We feel that we should give you the chance to recompense us for our inconvenience before we give a negative review.
We are still keen to stay at the Timanfaya, probably next March. I invite you to offer us some financial discount against our next stay with you.
Regards,
Martin Dixon
