MRE, Marcus Ray Enterprises (Triple Acres) Rented my family a unit in Elizabethtown, Kentucky in January of 2008. There were broken windows in almost every room leaving a sigle plane of thin glass in each window. Our first electric bill was over $350.00, and that was for less than three weeks.

When I investigated the reason for the high bill, I found a hot water leak that produced over three inches of standing water in the heating ducts. The manager, Ms. Covie Logsdon, took over three months to fix the leak and caused the electric bill to remain at an outrageous level. The heating ducts pulled away from the unit caused by the weight of the water and allow the heat or air conditioner to flow freely out from under the unit, doing very little to heat or cool the inside of the unit.

One member of this family has a disease that requires the temperature to be consistant. When the property manager (Covie Logsdon) was asked to fix the windows the conversation became a conflict. As of September not one window has been repaired nor even measured.

In June of 2008 a second leak was found and reported multiple times to Covie logsdon, property manager, And it was looked at that month and told us it would be fixed. We have heard nothing since then, over 4 months ago, and one side of the unit is now smelling of mold and causing one family member illness that required medical attention.

The property manager, Covie Logsdon, most of the time, spends about 15-20 minutes at the office when she arrives at just after noon, and this only about 3-4 times each week. No messages left on the office answering machine ever gets returned and most of the time is set deliberatly to fax so no messages can be left. The owner of this company, MRE, marcus Ray was called away to duty with the National Guard at which point he hired Ms. Covie Logsdon. We do not believe that Ms. Logsdon is doing the job that Mr. Ray has hired her for and we believe that Mr. Ray is completly unaware of Ms. Covie Logsdons lack of maintanence of the properties.

Other renters at this address have told me similar stories about the property manager being rude, combative and completly unwilling to repair anything in the units. One neighbor still has a leak in thier roof that has not been repaired for six months. I have mowed grass at not only my unit but two adjoining units that were vacant, at least 4 times, as agreed by with Mr. Ray to be subtracted from the rent. The Manager, Ms. Covie Logsdon, has to this day not subtracted this work from my rent.

The outrageous electric bill has caused my family financial hardship and we have fallen behind in rent, hoping to work out the rent and maintanence issues with Mr. Ray. Ms. Covie Logsdon has done nothing to help and has since issued an eviction. My family has every intention of paying what we owe to Mr. Ray, if we can ever get an audience with him to hash it out, but considering the inflated price of rent at this address, way above the average for the area, we feel that our contract was for a MAINTAINED unit which we have yet to recieve. We feel that our debt
to Mr. Ray should be equitable and as of now is not. The only recourse that we have as an afordable option is to let others know the kind of buisiness that Ms. Covie Logsdon runs.

I am apalled at the lack of profesionalism of Ms. Covie Logsdon. I also feel she is taking advantage of a U.S. soldier and his buisiness while he is called away to duty, and cannot reach him to talk.

As of September of 2008 the electric bill remains well above the already outrageous level and our family may well be living in our car next month.

Any one else dealing with M.R.E. and Ms. Covie Logsdon that has had similar business dealings please report them here and to the local better Buisiness Bureau. Elizabethtown is a nice town and should be protected against this kind of fraud against good people.
