On Jan 20, 2009 we took a cruise on the Splendida to the Mediterranean. The ship was very clean the entertainment was great and the ports of call were interesting. However, the cruise line had a severe problem with food. There was not one decent meal that we had for the duration of the 12 day cruise. Additionally, we were not able to get any coffee, tea, iced tea or milk for any of our meals except breakfast. If you wanted any of the obove during other meal times you could only get them at the bar. We were also unable to get water with our meals without buying a bottle from the ship. The main vegetable with every meal was zuccini. For the final formal night the ship served large prawns with the heads legs and tenticles intact. I would not recommend this cruise line to anyone who enjoys quality food and beverages other then wine or water. At the conclusion of the trio an additional charge was placed on the bill for Unicef of Brazil. I would like the option of choosing my own charity.
