I had a RAW SEWAGE backup in my basement from a blockage on the street via MSD. The pitiful response I got from the IDS Restoration Company was very disappointing after MSD all but insisted I utilize THEIR clean-up crews! It took 3 days to rid my home of the horrible residue of the back up and then I had to physically clean the furniture and items remaining that were not destroyed by the back up and then power spray the basement to remove the 'flood of brown water' that was left behind by the so-called restoration clean up.

I have YET to be contacted by one soul regarding my horrific experience and have not been reimbursed for one cent of my 'out-of-pocket' expenses that resulted. My 87 year old mother was with me at the time and I was very concerned about her welfare. MSD could not or would not advise me on the risks and hazards of staying in the house and the HEALTH DEPARTMENT was worse! They directed me to a site on "flooding" but were not able to provide me with information or guidance on how to handle this unfortunate event!

I am very dissappointed and very angry about the events that have ensued since the back up of several inches of sludge and raw sewage. Also, I am VERY VERY concerned about individuals in our community that cannot afford to front the expenses for things to 'restore' the bare necessities and-or VOICE their needs to MSD.

It's a terrible time in a city that is so progressive and likes to present the aura of being about the people when individual citizens fall victim to the inadequacies of MSD's policy and procedure after an event that is CLEARLY THEIR FAULT AND RESPONSIBILITY!
