I hardly know where to start...The MTA has got to be one of the worst companies in the history of...history. Cutting service, raising prices, lowering standards, and lowering maintenance of buses.
But moving past the company's general issues, let's take a brief look at the Bus system. First of, buses are (on average) 10-20 minutes late. Second, the bus drivers are horrible who can't do a job right. They are so rude to customers. I've seen obvious racism on the part of MTA employees. I once saw an Asian lady get talked to as if she were an idiot just because her card didn't work. What's funny is that a few stops later, a teenager juts walked in without paying and the driver paid no mind. People with luggage/children are treated like crap. Basically, MTA workers make it seem like a crime to be busy. Also, when MTA drivers end their shifts, they take their sweet time. They talk to their fellow drivers for a few minutes, then they laugh and joke as if there wasn't a bus full of students, workers, and parents running late. I just felt like I needed to get this off my chest, because I read an article in AM New York, and I saw that I was not the only one who hates the MTA.
