During the second quarter of 2007 I requested a few samples of two Stainless Steel fittings from MTG Imports (an out of state company). This sample set was to qualify MIG Imports as a manufacture for a new product that I am about to produce. MTG requested a deposit of $2010, which included the price of the samples and 1, 000 production units. I sent them the $2010 as they requested. I also sent them detailed AutoCAD drawings of the fittings. Later the samples arrived in a timely way. However, I was not happy with the quality of the samples, so I decided to not go ahead with a production run.
I requested a refund and was informed that I would receive it less $450 for the samples. Since the samples were machined poorly and not accurately to my drawings, I feel that I should not be charged for them. It has been over 2 years and I have still not received the refund. I've e-mailed MTG a number of times and they responded as follows:
August 27, 2007; "It is processing this week."
September 25, 2007: "This is scheduled to go out Friday on next check run."
February 11, 2008; "Check was processed today. It will go out Friday..."
In September of 2008 I filed a complaint about MTG with the Better Business Bureau of New Jersey. MTG did respond, but, as of January 2010, the case is classified as “UNRESOLVED” by the BBB.
In January of 2009 I filed a complaint about MTG with the Burlington County Consumer Affairs department. They sent a copy of my complaint to MTG and asked for a reply. In April of 2009 I was informed by letter from the BCCA that MTG has not responded, and that the BCCA will “…report this case as “subject uncooperative” to our statewide consumer computer network.”
MTG - Please send me the refund!
