Contract canceled but MTN still billing me
MTN were given 30 days notice of our intention to cancel our contract on 02102009. Our sim card was deactivated on 13112009. MTN continue to debit our account monthly from 122009 to 022010 inclusive despite our service being terminated. Numerous emails to MTN requesting them to rectify this error have been met with a forwarded email to their Retentions Department, copied to me, indicating 'Please assist deact date was set for 2009-10-02. Line is still active and customer is still being charged.' No 'assistance' has been forthcoming, and it is not possible to contact their customer service centre from a telkom line.

We would like MTN to discontinue billing us for a service which was cancelled 5 months ago.

MTN does not want my business - please phone less
This is the second time in a couple of months since i-talk has been taken over by MTN SP that I have been cut off. In the last seven years, I have NEVER missed a payment nor has it been sent back, I have run a legal pratice using my phone and had absolutely no problems with Italk as regards credit limits and the like.

Since MTNSP has taken over my account, this is the second time in a couple of months that my phone has summarily been suspended for going over a credit limit that was arbitrarily set. To date, despite request after the last incident, I have NOT been asked for any FICA documentation or a salary slip to show that I am well able to pay any credit limit i choose and that my account has been conducted impeccably.

This is therefore the second breach of contract from MTN's side and I now have no choice but to request that MTN allows early cancellation of my contract so as to allow me to move to a service provider who would like me to spend my upper end salary with them.

Please revert to me asap so that I may obtain a contract from another service provider as I need roaming to be activated for my upcoming overseas trip.

Sent for repairs and got no feedback
My fiance has given her Nokia N78 to MTN (Cresta branch) for repairs on the 26th of January 2010 (over a month ago) and MTN has not given us feedback as to whether the phone has been sent for repairs or is repaired. This is the second time that the phone is going in for repairs due to the same problem, faulty screen (phone comes on but screen stays blank).

We did have the exact same problem the last time we sent the phone in to the same branch for the same fault. We had to keep on calling and when we finally got threw, the staff member was extremely arrogant and rude. Her reply was, 'WE WILL CALL YOU WHEN THE PHONE IS READY!!!'.

When we purchased the phone on contract from the same branch, they were extremely friendly and seemed to offer great service delivery but I guess they just wanted the sale.

Contract from June 2009 still not activated
I subscribed for top up 50 contract in June 2009 and store supplied pay as you go simcard to be taken over to contraact. Since then the simcard is still on prepaid although I get billed for the top up contract every month since signing contract. Been to store more than 20 times since then with no luck. I feel this is a breach of my contract as I did not get any service on this contract for more than 7 months and would like to have this contract cancelled without me having to pay up the rest of the contract.

Mtn are a bunch of scammers
Went to MTN Clearwater on 13Feb to enquire abt an upgrade which I'm due for on 1Apr. Currently on Procall 300 package and wanted to downgrade to another package. Lady who helped us called MTN HO & I was notified that I wld have to pay in R2K for the downgrade or retain current package. We immediately cancelled the enquiry in store only to find 2 weeks later that the contract was put through when we called to give notice to cancel.

We were then informed that the contract only ends in 2012 as we just upgraded to a Blackberry. We never signed any contract and we most certainly didnt receive a phone. We've been battling with call centre agents this whole week & their only response, they cant help us. We have been referred back to the Clearwater mall, when we try to call there we immediately get transferred to a call centre & we're getting the run around. Why wld we agree to pay in R2k when our contract expires 142010 . I think it is outrageous that Mtn can do a contract on our behalf and then claim they cant rectify it. I want this problem solved so I can port my no. If this is service at its best then I weep for the future. Change yr ********* slogan, this is not AYOBA.

Failure to port a number to MTN after 4 weeks
I bought a new Phone contract including an Internet contract with MTN on the 4th of February 2010 and after having my number converted to prepaid and having it made available to Port, MTN have now taken 3 weeks to port the number and still have not accepted it .

i have paid R100 for a sim swtich and have received my new phone but cannot use it because the MTN number has now been scrapped, my number with my other service provider which MTN are supposed to accept for porting is now prepaid and therefore means i have to waiste time and buy air time until i can use the contract i am PAYING for yet is not available to me .

Why must one go to these measures to get service from a provider, which you thought may be better than the previous, but am now doubting is a better option .

Mtn raping Public with infectious costs
I am a MTN customer for the past 14 years. My last Pro-call 120 contract expired in August 2009.I tried calling MTN call centre since June 2009 but nobody seems to answer the phone. I can wait for hours on end just listening to music on hold. Visiting the service centres proved just as bad waiting at least 20 lunch hour breaks without being attended to. The costs incurred from service centre visits exceeded R5000 which is direct loss to me.

MTN have never smsed or communicated that my 24 month contact is nearing end and that my R199 per month contract will be increased to R350.The logic to increase the price from R199 pm to R350 pm is clearly one of price fixing since the handset is more than 24 months old. If anything, the monthly costs should have been reduced immediately.

I need MTNsp to call me immediately to advise how I can upgrade and what options are available for new handsets.MTN needs to advise on how I will be refunded for the call centre and service centre incompetence causing me additional charges monthly.

Handset returned after repairs with new problems
I recently had a problem with my Nokia N85 which is just a few months old, so i took it through to the North gate service center being it closest to me.After Two weeks i had not received a call regarding my phone so i went back to the center, i waited really long to be told that the phone was not repaired as it was water or liquid damaged, this was difficult to believe as the phone was never damaged in that way surely i would have known and would not have brought it to a service center, on receiving the phone from the agent i see that i could not enter the pin number as the keypad was not responding and the screen kept flickering, i showed this to the agent and said to her that when booking in this phone the only problem it had was that i could not hear the person calling me but on loudspeaker i could.She bluntly told me that she is not a technician and on the system it states that the phone is not worth repairing as the cost to repair is R6000 and so out of curiosity i asked then whats the replacement cost, guess what ? Its was R2800.Eventually the phone was re-booked, i have been with mtn for almost 10 years, I'm still waiting MTN for someone to call me as you promised ...
