WRONG BILLING
GOODAY TO ALL OF THE ABOVE:

MY NAME IS JAN LUCAS JANSE VAN RENSBURG

AS FROM 28 NOVEMBER MY ACCOUNT HAS BEEN SUSPENDED, REASON BEING, NOBOBY KNOWS AND NO ONE CAN ASSIST ME WITH MY ACCOUNT MATTERS.AFTER MANY CALLS TO YOUR CALL CENTRE NOBODY SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO HELP APART FROM THEM BEING VERY RUDE AND NON HELPFULL. END OF NOVEMBER I HAD TO PAY SOMETHING LIKE R2400, AND THEN AGAIN 3000 RAND FOR SERVICES I DID NOT USE. THEY CANT GIVE ME ANY BILLING INFO AND SAY THAT THEY DON’T HAVE ANY ANSWERS. I’VE BEEN A LONG LOYAL CLIENT OF ITALK AND NEVER SEEN THIS POOR AND BAD SERVICE, I WENT AS FAR AS YOUR LEGAL DEPARTMENT AND THEY SAID THAT I WILL HAVE TO WAIT 15 DAYS FOR THE ACCOUNT QUERIES AND THAT THEY DON’T HAVE ANY ANSWERS AS TO WHATS WRONG WITH MY ACCOUNT, AND IN THE MEAN TIME I MUST JUST PAY THESE AMOUNTS TO KEEP MY NAME CLEAR. MTN SENT ME AN SMS SAYING THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF MY ACCOUNT PROBLEMS, AND MY SERVICE PROVIDER WILL REFUND ME ON MY ACCOUNT, HOWEVER ANOTHER PAYMENT WENT THROUHT ON MY ACCOUNT.I HAVE REFRENCE NUMBERS (TWO OF THEM THEY DID NOT WANT TO GIVE ME A NOTHER ONE OR MORE REF NR 57365762/57375344)BUT THEY MEAN NOTHING.

I THINK THAT TO STRUGGLE WITH ACOUNTS THAT’S NOT YOUR ISSUE AND SOMETHING THAT YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER CANT GET RESOLVED AFTER 3 MONTHS, NEEDS TO BE ATTENDED TO BY SOMEONE THAT KNOWS WHATS GOING ON BECAUSE TO BE HONEST, THIS IS REALLY STARTING BE AN IRRITATION AND TO FIGHT ABOUT IT ALL, DOESN’T SOLVE ANY PROBLEMS .

NOT THAT I AM DEMANDING ANYTHING BECAUSE IT’S NOT RIGTH BUT I REALLY NEED THIS ACCOUNT TO BE SORTED WITH IN 24 HOURS I NEED BILLING STATEMENTS FROM 1 NOVEMBER 2009, TILL DATE. I NEED A REFUND WITH IN 24 HOURS. I NEED SOME ONE TO CALL ME AND EXPLAIN WHAT WENT WRONG.
I DO NOT MEAN TO BE SO DIRECT BUT IF NOTHING IS DONE I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO TAKE THIS FUTHER TO CONSUMER COUNSIL, HELLO PETER AND NOW THE NEW PROGRAM OF CARTE BLANCHE WHERE THEY SORT OUT ISSUES LIKE THIS, ALSO A COPY OF THIS IS GOING TO MY LAWYER AND SEE IF THERE ARE ANY RESPONSES FROM I TALK, FOR ANY FURTHER PROPLEMS ALL NAMES ON TOP OF THIS MAIL WILL BE MENTIONED IN ORDER FOR ME TO SEE IF ITALK REALLY CARES ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS. Poor service & incompetent
I'm also very long with them I think from 2004. I am furious in Dec2009 they suspended my line because according to law every body needs a limit of R250.00. Fine I actually ask them but why wasn't I informed wrt this by email, sms or the like.

Then I asked the person forgot his name will my account be activated and he said no, because of their Billing system it will only be activated in the new month being Jan2010 and that I will have a minimum limit set to this account.

So I got really angry and told him to fly. Then I phoned again and spoke to another fellow by the name of Thabo explained everything and he told me "but your account has never been in arrears" and it should be active, I thanked him and tried again and all of a sudden I could phone.

Now in February we only received sms that informed us that MTN had double charged us on the data bundle and would be rectified. And my account has all of a sudden jump from an average R500 in 2009 jumped to a R1100.00 on the one account and R480 to R900 on the other.

What actually surprise me neither my wife or I did actually phoned much during Dec09Jan10, and where is the limit now that so call were implemented by government.

I am totally dissatisfied with the service & support from MTN and really thinks to change from this pathetic service that we get.

Failure to help customer re account
My phone was stolen 2 weeks ago. After consultation with the police, I did not blacklist the phone, because they wanted to track whoever is using it. Being that it is my contract account, I tried to get an Itemised Billing statement from Mtn.

After numerous calls and visits to at least 3 so-called Customer Service centres, it became clear to me that I have no control over my own account. Their excuses range from : I can only get Itemised billing after the 10th of the next month, they can only give me unbilled itemised billing if I blacklist the phone and do the Simswap (which makes no sense as I want the guy to use it so we can track him), I CAN get the last three numbers dialed from the SIM, but the consultant must 1st get approval and he will get back to me, which of course, he NEVER did.

Maybe I'm simple-minded, but it seems that a Multi-Million Dollar company like MTN with vast resources and all that high-tech equipment, can't let me, as the account holder, know what is going on in my own account, even if I am the one requesting the information. Why do I have to get a court order to see what numbers are being dialed from my own account?

It is no wonder that criminals are getting away with so much, because they know that certain companies will not go the extra mile to put them to book.

Fraud
I received an sms stating:Congratulations, your number was among the lucky winners on the NOKIA YEARLY PROMOTION. You won R250000.00. Ticket number 0166P. Call Mark Luis on 0785362662 for your cash prize from 08am to 6pm.
I contacted the person who answered the number as Mark Luis and asked from where i was calling and what number and for the ticket number.
After supplying this info he said i was to purchase 2 x MTN recharge vouchers for R180 = R360.00. I was to sms the pin numbers with my cell number, ticket number and banking account number, Initials and age and fax number to him to activate the ticket.
They would make payment to my account before close of day.

After searching the Nokia UK site i found no such promotion and believe this to be a fraud scam. I would appreciate comment from both Nokia and MTN in this regard as i am continuing with criminal proceedings against this person, unless otherwise confirmed by either MTN or Nokia.

BAD SERVICE
MTN HAS THE WORST SERVICE EVER. CONSULTANTS DON;T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE QUERIES. I HAVE TO LOG ANOTHER QUERY FOR THE FIRST QUERY. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!!! MY BILL IS ALWAYS WRONG AND THEY JUST DONT LISTEN TO WHAT THE CUSTOMER WANTS OR NEEDS. I REGRET DEALING WITH MTN.

payments not reflected and refusal to cancel
my problem started aprox march 2009, the day i went in to pay my bill at Smartsurv house (mtn customer centre century city cape town) their systems were off-line so the consultant did a manual transaction and i paid using my debit card. at the end of the month that payment did not reflect on my statement from MTN. i went in to enquire about this and was told to bring in my proof of payment(manual receipt), which i did the following day. however on this day the consultant that helped me was busy so the hostess at the door said she would hand the receipt to him. at the end of this month still nothing sorted on my account so back i went and this time i even took my bank statement to show that the payment was made. i have been back so many times since then with all the consultants promising to sort out this dilema, i also requested to see the manager and was told she would contact me, till today nothing. when the contract ran its term in june i requested it to be cancelled and a final bill to be sent, this has unfortunately has never been done and i am still being billed. i am at my wits end trying to rectify this problem with MTN but they just dont seem interested in resolving this issue.

Service not up to standard
I can't understand why MTN can't make sure that they have the necessary capacity to deal with sms traffic during Christmas & New Year. It's annoying not be able to send and receive sms's

poor network service
we recieved a poor network service from MTN network and this is due to lack network antena around the RAMATLABAMA area.we as costomers receives network from antenae based in MAFIKENG TOWN .Lately we find that our mobile phones shows the ORANGE NETWORK which is a BOTSWANA based company due to this we end going a day or two without network which cost us personaly and bussness wise.To me the best solution will be if MTN will contract ABTENA around the RAMATLABAMA area for they have many costomers in this area.FOR CONTRACT costomers is no fair because we end up paying for sevices we are using.
