Internet bundles not lasting 24 hours
Upon hearing about the wonderful internet bundle from MTN that advertises for 50 rand 24 hours unlimited use I got excited and straight away on friday bought three bundles to cover friday saterday and sunday activated at ten o clock and started down loading updates and drivers for my computer . I soon realised that unlimited is not altogether true as they have a fair usage clause that means after 150 mb download they shape you wich I thought was ok. then as I am busy downloading the first episode of Dr who from the BBC website a legal down load my 24 hours reset after only 14 hours at around midnight and then proceeded to eat all the other credit on my cell as I was asleep at this time. Giving them the benefit off the doubtg I activated my next bundle saterday thinking its a new service maybe its a mistake and the same both saterday and sunday officialy MTN owe me thirty hours of internet time and thirty rand in phone credit that should never have been used.

Cannot use my contract cellphone
I have not been able to use my mobilephone for over 2 days due to my account being blocked as I was told I have reached my Billing Limit!!! I have called several times to MTN SP and was told to wait two to four hours and my account will be corrected as I have requested for my limit to be increased which up till today still has not been done. I am not the only customer that has this problem.

Call limit and account balance not adjusted
Sibonile, As per my previous communications regarding the call limit can not be due to a number of system nor Network problems. I know two people who has cellphone contracts with MTN and also have call limits on them and they have no problems with their limits, the phone is blocked as soon as its reached the call limit. If this was the case due to network or system errors their would have been lots of complaints regarding the call limit being in operation but fails to serve its purpose. People are trying to save money where they can due to theis economic stress we are going through. I find this unacceptable and MTN needs to be held responsible and investigate and fix the cause of this alleged network and system errors, which i think is untrue. Why would other peoples call limit work on MTN and not JP Lubbe. I think he is being seen as a easy target. This account needs to be re-imbursed settle this account. Please also ensure that he has not been handed over to ITC for this was not his fault and on numerous occasions have enquired telephonically and per email regaring the call limit and did MTN give us a reference number for the call limit added - This is no excuse for MTN.

Data prices are unreasonable
I currently use the MTN pay as you go Data bundle system. I have been vert happy with the speeds and consistency of MTN's broadband service. The only problem that I have come across is the pricing of these data bundles. If I were using a dsl connection I would be able to get 1 gb of data for under 30 rand but because I am using MTN wireless I pay 289 rand for 1 gb. Is there a reason for this insanely high price? Is there a difference between the kind of data supplied? I doubt that is the case however. In my opinion, all the celular providers are taking their customers for a ride and are making a massive profit from their over priced internet. I spend over 600 rand a month for just over 4 gb's. Due to this I am considering trying my luck with Telkom, for the same amount I am paying now I could have a dsl line with over 5 gb's of data a month or even Uncapped if I find the right service provider. When are the prices for wireless data going to drop? If ever?

Data lost and simply no response from MTN
On the 30 of March I loaded a 500 MB data bundle onto my mtn sim card. I use some of this data and then the rest simply dissappeared. After calling mtn I was told that they were experiencing billing problems and that my sim card would be credited wit 398 MB of data...Till today I have not received anything. It is now the 17th of April. I have called on numerous occasions. I always get told that I will either rceive my data in 2 to 24 hours or that someone from MTN will contact me within that time. MTN does simply not call back. They have SHOCKING customer service. MTN, GIVE ME BACK MY DATA. THIS IS THEFT!! If I do not get a response on this, I will definately not leave it at this. I called yesterday and was told once again that within 2- 24 hours something would happen...I highly doubt it will...MTN, you need to provide answers. Be transparent; tell us how your customer service system works, who is responsible for what (not normal personall but managers!) and if needed these guys (managers) should be called to book.

No answer from legal department
I have been trying since Monday 12 April to get my account - with seven cell phone on it - to be re-activiated. Apparently, only the legal department can do this. Which would be fine, IF THEY EVER ACTUALLY ANSWERED THE PHONE. I have held EVERY morning since Monday for at least 30 minutes for someone in legal to answer. Eventually I've been forced to put down the phone because I'm afraid I'm going to get carpal tunnel syndrome in my hand. No one at the call centre can help, they just keep putting me through to the legal department who clearly are having phone issues. Can't wait to move to another 'service' provider.

Renewed contract without my consent
My contract expired 310809. I phoned, emailed and posted letters to cancel my contract as at expired date...WHICH WAS NOT DONE!!!...HOW CAN YOU RENEW MY CONTRACT IF, I DID NOT SIGN ANY RENEWAL CONTRACT. YOU RECEIVED MY EMAILS BECAUSE I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM MTN CONFIRMING CONFIRMATION OF MY EMAIL YET YOU DON'T CANCEL MY CONTRACT.

Service been suspended after paying
My service was suspended because i forgot to pay my account on time. After phoning 808 on Saturday they gave me the total amount and I paid it and mailed the proof of payment to MTN. It took 4 hours for them to switch on my phone again. Today (Monday) they suspended my phones again after i paid.When i phoned 808 the lady put the phone down in my ear.I couldn't get the lady's name.
When i phoned again they said the phone has been suspended because the money only showed in the account today.Now i want to find out what was the use in mailing the proof of payment??Just to waste my time??? This last few weeks I've been having endless problems with MTN.The service is really ******.Ive been waiting since last week for MTN Key West to phone me back with my Garmin problem also and for someone to come back to me about the complaint i posted the other day. There is just no service.I don't know what we paying for if no one can help me. I've had my account for years and this is really **** service.

No resolution after nearly a month
I have written a report about a month ago explaining that we have very poor reception at our home. I have only received a message stating that MTN will look into this but as to date have had no resolution whatsoever or further contact from MTN at all! This is very poor service! Is someone going to resolve this issue or should we start looking for a new cellphone supplier?

Fraudulent calls made from my MTN number
According to my bill, it was Xmas night that my cellphone was used for over 3 hours to an unknown number. We all know what we were doing on Xmas night and i am 100% sure that i did not make the calls and i know that i had my phone on me that night at all times. I logged an investigation with Mtn who told me today that all they can confirm is that the billing is correct. No one wants to explain how they investigated and how they concluded that these calls were made from my number. HAVE NO IDEA HOW??? I tried calling the number but it goes straight to a voicemail. I held on today for 19 minute for a supervisor and was cut off - surprise surprise!!! i will not be paying that bill until someone can prove to me that i made those calls. Dont know if anyone can assist further or can provide any advise on how to handle this situation. All of this just causes people unnecessary stress and if MTN knows that they had billing problems, surely they should investigate properly!
