Do not buy anything from Murad company, it is a serious scam. My wife bought a $30 acne set from them on their site murad.com. There was nothing on the site, in the cart, or in the email receipt from the first purchase to indicate there would be additional automatic charges or any kind of automatic membership. But about 3 weeks later she gets an email about the second charge and shipment, $38.00 for that and it will be followed by a third charge in a few more weeks for $34.00. We went back to the site and found the fine print which is only visible if the mouse cursor is hovering over the add to cart button. This is not obvious at all. It is deceptive trickery at best. It should be obvious in the cart and product page. The scam is simple: you buy the first package for $30 and think it is a one time payment. Then about 3-4 weeks later they send you a second package supposedly its worth $60.00 + shipping and charge you $38.00 for that (first installment). Then 4 more weeks later you will get another (third) charge for about $35.00 (second installment). they will keep doing this forever unless you call to cancel it.
If you call and cancel it, they will say it is cancelled but who knows if it really is, and in any case you will at least get a second shipment and the second two charges totaling $73 or so, and they do not tell you about the additional charges at all unless you ask for a written cancellation notice. Because guess what, in writing it becomes legal, then they have to tell you about the money they will still take from you.
When you play the phone game the best they can do is refund your money if you send the 2nd package back. If you do this, send it certified return receipt so you can take this lying company to court when they say they never got the package and try to give you a bad credit score.
The whole idea is to milk the victim for about $100 before they get wise and cancel it and follow through. There is certainly some corporate formula for the percentage of people who will lose patience calling in to cancel it, who will fail to send the package back certified return receipt, and who will fail to get an official cancellation in writing.
Run, do not walk, away from this company. Call to cancel, get the cancellation in writing as an email and read it before you hang up so you can see what they will still charge you in the future and you can protest it.
