My husband and I look at our bank statements regularly. Last night we noticed a charge for 24.95 from some company called called Valmax, which is supposedly based out of CT, but all the information on their website says CA. We checked online and found numerous complaints about this company. Their own information states that "you probably signed up for membership by visiting a partner website." Website says you can cancel by going to their member center link. Went there and entered information from bank statement and email address, and, surpisingly(lol), they claim that member information does not exist in their system. How the hell are you supposed to cancel this crap?! My husband is going to call the number on our statement, but I have a feeling he'll get a runaround. Please be aware of the wesites you are visiting, and only give out debit/credit info on secure sights! I blame my husband for this mess, as he doesn't think before giving out this info, but shouldn't this company be charged with fraud or theft or something? We need better laws to make this crap illegal.
