Won't Let Me Port Number Even Though They Caused Major Headaches For Me
I have had a myfax account for 4 years. I am cancelling my service because none of my cover pages were populating with who the recipient was, the client info, notes, nothing. I sent 75 pages, that I became aware of, with blank covers. I had an insurance company say they never received my recert info, a disability company say they never received my info - there was no info on the form who was supposed to get all the paperwork that followed, so it was probably thrown out. They don't have time to play guess the recipient. I called Myfax and got a guy reading the same directions I had already read - which was insulting. I told him I had already done all of it. Then he suggested the user web interface. I used that - guess what - the cover never populated with what I wrote - still blank! The guy told me to re-fax all of this stuff, which was dumb - it did not solve the problem - and it would have put me well over my limit of 100 pages out per month. Just what I wanted - another bill. I went to Nextiva and tried a trial with them and this is where I re-faxed the 75+ pages of paperwork. Beautiful! So I decided to go with them - 500 pages a month, 4.95 per month!!! I went to port my fax number - MyFax won't release it. They claim they cannot, but could not tell me why except that it originated there. So, they can take other people's numbers but when it is their turn, they won't? I checked and the number was portable. Their "can't" means "won't." Even when I pointed out why this was good for them to port this out and make me happy, they would not do it. I am super upset, frustrated - angry. They could do this - it is not government regulation - they want to be a pain. This was the round and round I got today. I was put on hold for chat for 30 minutes, then the guy who was supposed to speak with me disappeared - I thought the connection died, and then I got another guy, who at the end gives me a number for porting. I call it - it is not the porting department - just another guy in support who won't even let me speak with porting, or do anything to remedy this. This ate up my afternoon. 2 billable hours down the toilet - that is $200. I even told the guy I would not stay if the number was not ported - I was leaving, period. This is how they try to keep customers. So, I am going to waste more time tonight, go to each and every web site for each and every insurance company, and through each and every one of my contacts to give them a new fax number, then I am cancelling MyFax. I move mountains for people - too bad they couldn't move a molehill for me. I was a customer for 4 years - that may not look like a lot to them, but it is longer than most of Liz Taylor's marriages. Try Nextiva. They are super easy to use, have a very quick and streamlined interface, and are professional and friendly. I am still sending the porting paperwork. Maybe someone from My Fax will see this and do the right thing.

Scam
MyFax claims to be a free service for 30 days and then if you cancel there is no cost but three months after I canceled, for which was given before the trial period was up I was billed $30.00.
Considering I do keep check on my accounts I caught it and they will not have the opportunity to do that to me again, but the bottom line is they are a scam and if they do that to a lot of people who are not aware that they are being billed it can cause a lot of problems for those people and make the myfax team rich.
BEWARE OF THE SCAM DO NOT USE MYFAX
