CONTRACTORS BEWARE! After Eric Carsten from myfreeestimates.com contacted us about sending us "qualified" leads for home improvements, we agreed to send him a check for $450 that would pay for 10 leads. Long story short, we got 4 JUNK "leads" that weren't even looking for estimates in a period of over 4 months. When we tried to contact Eric to see why we weren't getting leads, noone EVER answers the phone at myfreeestimates.com & I left 8+ messages through fax, email and phone. Finally I got angry & sent an email to Eric telling him he was a pussy for "hiding" from us and not returning phone calls, he called me back within MINUTES of receiving the email. After we fought on the phone, Eric sent me a cancellation form by fax to sign and return to him. I did so even though I THOUGHT it was pointless to cancel a contract where he was refusing to return the remainder of the unused funds because once you sign up with Eric, even if you don't get even 1 lead, he will keep your money. Then, a few months later, I find 2 charges on our bank statement that I had no record for and called the bank. Of course, the bank tells me the 2 unauthorized withdrawals from our account were from MYFREEESTIMATES.com, who did not have a signed authorization form to take money out of our bank account, they merely got the account number from the check we sent them. Eric Carsten is a con artist and myfreeestimates is a FRAUD.

This contractor lead company knows one thing very well. Thats how to scam people. They strive on contractors that are in desperate need to land a few jobs in a struggling economy. They promise you leads at discounted prices or unlimited leads for 99.00 and once they bill your card, you can't get anyone on the phone. Eric Carsten, CEO will brag to you how good he is on the phone. I just figured with this so-called stimulus contractor package, I would give it a try for 99.00. They then tell you after they get your 99.00, you have to commit for 3 months at 500.00 per month. After emailing back and forth he let me know if I have the card charged back, he will win like always. This tells me that this a regular occurance for myfreeestimates. I actually tried buying leads from them in 2006. They were selling the leads to 10 or more contractors, claiming only to sell to 4. I guess 99.00 is a small price to pay for a well learned lesson!
