I attempted to use the Law Firm, Myles L Berman for a DUI I received on 7/10/10. My first call should have been a warning. I was asked what happened by the young lady that answered the phone, not an attorney. After a brief conversation, she said, send in the $2500.00 and we will be back in touch with you. At the beginning, it all looked and sounded good. I supplied lots of details about the incident and it seemed like they would be able to get me off. After 5 months of postponements, I was informed that "WE" lost and I owed the county $3500, plus 12 weeks of DUI classes at a cost of almost $1000.00. Then of course they stated "We really think you have a case and we pretty sure, but can't promise anything, but we think we can get you off, if we go to trial. That will cost you another $7000.00". Needless to say I fired them and got a Public Defender. After talking with him and showing him all of the documentation, he stated, "You had a blood test that shows 0.09. There is no way to beat that. I am willing to fight it, if that's what you want, but the jury will convict you on that case alone.
Needless to say, I wasn't happy, but it was my fault for having that extra cocktail, I just wish that the MYLES L BERMAN law firm would have been up front instead of only looking at the dollar signs. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND not using them. They are the TYPICAL ATTORNEY...in it for the money. The last words for the attorney I spoke with at court, from MYLES L BERMAN were (and I promise these were her words when I told her you're fired) "I don't give a shit what happens to you". Very unprofessional
