My friends and I went to Mythos at Bedford Square last night for dinner. The food was good and we had a really good time, until the bill arrived. The bill included 12 pita's and 3 dips, which no one had ordered. When we queried what this was for, we were informed that it was for the pita's and dips we ate prior to our meals. When we asked why we were being billed for them, the waiter told us that it was on the menu at those prices. However, no one had ordered any pita's or dips (we had all decided on other items as starters), the pita's and dips were just placed on our tables shortly after our arrival. Obviously we ate them, as most restaurants provide complimentary bread, and we were under the impression that these were complimentary as the waiter did not indicate otherwise. We were very disappointed, as the waiter should have asked us if we would like to order any pita's off the menu as starters, and not just put them on our table without disclosing that we would be charged for them. We will not be going back to Mythos again if this is their waiters attitude.
