charged 39.95 for membership I was unaware I had joined
I had signed up for a free trial of Natra Pure through a website that I came across. It stated the first bottle was "absolutley free" and I could cancel the membership at any time. I received my bottle and cancelled within the 2 week trial period. A month later I saw a charge of 39.95 from "MyTrainer" out of Santa Monica, CA. There was also another charge from "Crasher" of Sant Monica for $2.97. It didn't have a phone number or anything to go by and I have never heard of this company before. I figured it had something to do with Natra Pure because that was the only thing I had ordered online recently. I called them and they said the charges weren't coming from them and I asked them if they knew anything about this company, but they said absolutely not and they would never give my personal information to another company. So I did some research on my own and after 30 minutes of surfing the web I finally found this website with the same name as the description charged to my checking account. I called them up and sure enough they are the company who charged me. They explained that when I signed up for the free trial of Natra Pure, I was also signing up for their services. I told them there's no way I would have agreed to this type of membership as I have no interest in their services. I remember when I signed up for the free trial of Natra Pure, I read the entire terms and conditions at least 3 times, because I'm very skeptical and I usually don't fall victim to these types of scams, but at the same token I feel as long as you're responsible enough to cancel on time, there's no harm. WRONG. Don't fall for it. There was NOTHING in the terms about such a company or membership. They don't even try to hide these membership agreements in the terms and conditions, they just blatantly allow other internet companies to jump on your credit card and checking account information and make all the phony charges to your account as they please. It's just wrong. At any rate, I explained that I didn't agree to the charges and they agreed to have them reversed. They have not posted to my bank account yet so I hope they follow through with what they said because I cannot afford the charges.
