Bad customer service
Now days mortgage companies don't understand what the customer is going thru because its not them. We're all living in a world where people just don't care, respect is no more. Making money off of the consumer is the key. and if you don't have money they don't care. I attended The NACA event at the Los Angeles Convention Center what a joke. You go to a suppose to be orientation, your sitting there for 3 hours and then later told you need to come back to see a counselor because its to many people there, your told you will get a call, or a text, or an email for a appointment to see your lender which was AHMSI, But you must go thru the NACA counselors first, then after you spend about a hour, your told to find your lender, you find AHMSI sit down with them for about 30 -45 minutes. They prepare this workout sheet to possibly approve you for a interest rate that they know your not going to get, mind you my husband and I had to drive back and forth to the Convention Center for 2 days. I am ashame of these companys and the way there just not helping Americans that are in need. Shame on the politicans and the Obama administration, they have done nothing to help us, what happen to a single family working hard to achieve goals with one of them buying a home for there family and someday leaving that home to there kids and possibly generations to come. I'm not ashame to say it but these banks, and mortgage companies, lawyers who are rippen people off should put there heads down with shame. And oh yes can it happen to there families for sure, they should be very careful GOD don't like ugly what goes around comes around.

Fraud
Naca is a fraud; they take you through a long process and hold your file for years they tell you everything is okay and then say they cannot work with you. Do not trust them. They may help some but it is not the norm find another program for home purchase. There are plenty of good programs. Even try going through your bank. If you do not have a response with in 3weeks leave Naca. The oakland branch has the laziest manager, she does not like to work and is prejudice, she does not help any one at all.

Something seems fishy
My husband and I tried to buy a home using NACA in the Kansas City area. We went through their complicated process for over a year. We finally decided that they were untrustworthy and used a different lender. We have great credit and we were asked to provide all kinds of extra paperwork besides our credit scores to get pre-approved for a loan. We had to watch every penny that we spent from our savings to cover a payment shock. Peoples' costs can vary from month to month especially during tax time so it was annoying. We finally got into a contract for a really great bargain on a house in a great neighborhood. We had the house inspected and were told that several things could be fixed easily by us cheep. Our real estate agent is a carpenter and he was willing to help us with the work. The inspection list was turned into hand and hand sent back a outrageous list of prices to get thing fixed and said that the items all needed to be fixed by licensed workers. We either needed to have the seller of the house get everything fixed or have NACA approved contractors fix everything before we could buy the home. The seller could not afford to fix everything. He was broke. We would have had to pay the outragoues prices that hand quoted to have NACA approved contractors fix everything. We were approved for a loan amount that was much higher than our payment was going to be for this bargain home. We suspect that hand had access to our loan pre-appoval information and they over priced everything to get us to take out a home improvement loan for the extra amount. We did not buy the home. We continued to look for a perfect home with little to fix with in our budget. We had to be approved again and our NACA representative stalled our approval for 2 months. We suspect he spammed our email when we complained about hand because it happen immediately after my husband spoke with him. Our NACA representative did not return calls & cancelled appointments with us sometimes he did not call us to tell us he was cancelling. NACA claimed that there computers and phones were down many many times. They lost files. I don't trust these guys. The guy that started NACA probably meant well but I suspect that there may be a scam going on with HAND.

fraud, theft by deception
Sometime ago I contacted the people at the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America. I paid the fee to join and I sent them all of my homeowner's information. They told me that they help people so that they do not lose their homes. I spent hours on the phone as well as in person, giving them documentation to save my home. I spoke with many representatives, including the top representatives of the organization. They did nothing! They are connected to Exit Realty, which I believe also is a company that is only interested in assisting real estate investors and the real purpose of NACA is not to assist those who are losing their homes, but those who are interested in buying homes.
People that are facing serious foreclosure issues should not participate with this organization which may be a company whose political affiliations are questionable, especially in light of the current upheaval in this country politically. Please make others aware of this, as so many poor people really need help not someone to steal their information and to possibly sell it to others.

Bad service
I started working with NACA in July 2009, I am in need of a loan mod. I've done everything required, I've had patience in that they didn't call me the first 3 times, I've had no follow-up to date, I've called faithfully each month, and endured the phone disconnecting, holding for 1+ hours each time and talking to counselors who tell me something different each time. I've referred several people to NACA and don't know of any sucess stories yet. Every counselor that I talk to tells me someting different, its been 5 months and nothing. They tell me to continue to call, that there are lots of people in need of a solution because they have sale dates and I don't. Its very frustrating especially since they keep having workshops and ding more people when they haven't serviced the people already waiting for service. They don't give me a timeline as to how long to wait. They just say that they have people who have had open files for 3 years, that doesn't make sense. I have a legitimate hardship and a decent income if I don't get help soon, I'll be one of those people with a sale date. Can anyone tell me how to get a response out of NACA? Thanks in advance. P.S. [email protected], I hope you read this and respond.
