Nami is a non profit organization that is a support group for the mentally ill. Every year they have a christmas party and get donations for door prizes from walmart and places like that. The last party they did not give out all of the door prizes they were going to keep them and I had said something to someone that was also attending the party about it and the directors daughter rushed over to me and pushed me and then got up in my face with her nose almost touching mine and started yelling saying I hear you are trying to start some s--- I told her to please get out of my face or I would call the police. She said call the police Bi--- and I will kick your A--. I started crying real hard because I had my 4 year old son with me and was scared. I went to the director Marty Harrison the is head of the Bowling Green Ky nami and she did nothing. She ignored me and walked away. Meanwhile her daughter approached me 2 other times and was still yelling and calling me bad cuss names. I went to another person that works for nami named Pat Denny and she said she did not want to get involved. I had other people that were mentally ill attending the party that witnessed this and were trying to get the lady to stop yelling and threatening me also but no one would help or cared. That night I ended up going to the emergancy room for chest pains and was short of breath. The doctor said it was an anxiety attack. I was also admitted into the hospital because I became suicidal from the incident because I felt like no one cared about what happens to me. I called the main nami in Louisville Ky and told them what happened and nothing was ever done about it. I think it is real sad that an organization that is suppose to help the mentally ill would be so low as to threaten and cuss out a mentally ill person and this a support group.
