I am writing to officially launch a serious complain against the Napa Auto Care due to the unfavorable interaction I experienced with this company on the 11/11/2008 and Repair # 2088. On this said instance, I found Napa Auto Care to be extremely deceptive, manipulative and unprofessional. First of all, when I visited the business location of this company I was left unattended by anyone for a little over fifteen minutes while the Manager at the store Rusty stayed at the back doing basically nothing. I had indicated indicated to him when I first walked in that I was in there but apparently he forgot until one of the mechanics came from the back and brought my presence to the attention of Mr. ‘Manager’ Rusty. I had brought in my care for a simple oil change and nothing else. My car was eventually taken to the back for the simple oil change and I waited for nearly an hour longer even though there were no other customers. When I finally received my car a 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser, I was billed a whopping $ 98.03. I was astounded and mad and I said that was not true. I brought it to the attention of Mr. Rusty that the last time I brought my car here for the same service was two months ago and it costed a little over $ 60 which was still very high end. His response was that he had used extra quarts of oil than the last time. But, I said I am buying exactly the same service from the last time of my visit (simple oil change) and he said he knows that but I was not charged right the previous time. It did not make any sense to me at all because I was coming to the same store, the same ownership bringing the same car but I was assessed such arbitrary rates. I asked why I was not informed that I was not charged appropriately in the first place, Mr. Rusty said he is not in position to answer. So I asked to speak to the owner of the place and the name of Jack Griffith was given to me . I called Jack who was serving at another Napa Auto Care on Baseline Road which he owned on the same day while still trying to resolve this matter. At first, Jack could not believe his ears that I was being charged $ 98.03 for a simple oil change. He said ‘no way’! I thought he was going to resolve this matter he turned around and started justifying flimsily that they used synthetic oil on my vehicle. I went on to clarify to him that it is the very same quality of oil I used for the same car the last time I visited then he started dancing around only because he wanted to justify the frivolous rate they were charging me. I was very annoyed and I disheartened and he hung up the phone on me. I called all round the town and there was no other place where they charged up to fifty dollars for oil change for my make and made of vehicle. In fact in most places, prices were in the forties. This is terrible when companies dupe the public like this. Maybe they thought they had met an ignorant African who spoke with an accent but I am not an illegal here neither am I an illiterate. They should not be charging me arbitrarily like this. I am requesting that an investigation be conducted and this matter is resolved with my money refunded. If there are crimes committed, the Napa Auto Care should be fined or shot down.
