On November 17, 2009 I was contacted by phone from a company that stated that they were from Nation Wide Verification Center, that they monitor the internet for possible frauds. They stated that they had found information on the internet that expo0sed my personal checking account, that the account was open for anyone to view and that they wanted me to know that this was a serious problem. They were going to remove that information from the internet with my permission. They stated that their service was free and that because of the inconvience that this caused they were going to send me a fuel voucher for the amount of $399.00. They asked me to verify my accounts numbers and already had some information. Information included my checking account routing # and my checking account #. It was then that I realized this was more than likely a fraud, a scam. I immediately called my bank and had them place a hold on my account until I could get a different account. I am by nature too trusting and I realize that I have to say no to anyone or any company that I have no real knowledge of. They used the telephone # of 888-555-1234, of course the number is no good.
