Sirs, ms., earlier in this year, March 09, I filed bankruptcy, and I listed National City Bank, Dayton, Ohio as one of my creditors. In my March-April statement, I was billed twice by my phone company on my internet account. The phone company was authorized only one charge per month. I contested, and filed a complaint with National City over the second charge. Account with phone company was closed May 20, 09. June 09, I received a questionnaire from National City, asking if I still wanted to contest the original March-April complaint. I checked yes, and sent the questionnaire back. Phone company was listed on bankruptcy same month, June, 09. July 2, 09, bankruptcy was approved, and closed. Late July 09, received bank statement for internet account. National City had charged me the original contested fee from phone company, who was listed in bankruptcy, plus a entire months of fees. All without one notice of any kind. I filed a contest and complaint against all fees and charges. This was the last week of July 09. The first week of August 09, my day-to-day National City account was charged all the contested fees from my internet account. I'd not received any notice of the results from the contest/complaint I'd just filed a few days before. This action tied up my finances. I had to open another account with another bank, and cover all debits and checks still outstanding. National City sent me a notice(? National City was now sending me notices?) that they had sent my mortgage payment check back due to insufficient funds, and charged me a fee. They did not send my check back in fact, which caused the charging of more fees. I called the manager of another National City branch, who'd been helpful in the past. He was now district manager. I spoke with him briefly, and he promised to investigate this matter and get back to me personally! He never did. He infact dodged all my attempts to speak with him again.
In light of what had now occured with National City, I began to think about other matters involving National City. My monthly statements for most part, were impossible to balance. I was being told 99% of the time that my deposits were short, and my year end statements had never balanced. They'd been $100-200 dollars short for several years. The argument could be made that I'd been cheated by National City for years. So much for free checking, eh.
This sums up matters with National City Bank, now to become PNC bank simply this November 09. Yes, I've tried further contests, and filing of complaints with National City bank. I've been met with the same results as before. A simple stone wall! Oh, I both contacted, and spoke with my bankruptcy attorney about this matter. To date he has little if anything to say about this matter which was clearly dismissed in bankruptcy, Lee Hohl, LLP, Dayton, Ohio. When I'd first been looking into hiring Mr. Hohl as my bankruptcy attorney, he had assured me, he'd clearly represent me
in such matters. In my opinion, he has not. So, in conclusion, I believe the Federal Reserve in general, regardless of what they claim, have not stopped the abuses of banking in these United States, and it is little wonder the American public is stil very much angered over the banking handout, and will be for some time to come. L. Cummings, Dayton, Ohio.
