We were contacted last fall by National Claims Recovery, LLC, telling us that we had defective siding and had a limited time to file a claim against Weyerhaeuser. The woman from National Claims Recovery told us that most claims received payment of $1800 - $2000, We permitted her to cut a 5" x 5" piece of siding off our home with which to file the claim, believing that there would be enough money from the settlement to have it repaired.
In January we received a check from Weyerhaeuser for $127! I called National Claims Recovery to ask what happened; they said that so many people in my town had complained that their president was coming to review over 100 complaints and would stop by our home in March.
He did stop by, and said that our payment was correct - that what we thought was damage (which she implied was damage) was normal aging on our siding. When i complained to him that I felt extremely mislead by her presentation and his company, he had no response - he had to leave quickly because he had so many other complaints to follow up on.
I didn't send in their 33% of my settlement fast enough, so tonight I was informed that they've turned us over to a collection agency. I'm not sure if this company will continue to operate under this name since most of the siding lawsuits have been resolved, but if they ever show up doing anything - do not do business with them. They are liars, cheats, and will do anything to make a buck. I'm complaining to the FTC as well. If they stuck you the same way they mislead us, I encourage you to do the same, as well as flooding their 800# with complaint calls. At least I can cost them the $55 that they are getting from the collection agency.
