need to cancel
NME called me to offer me a chance at their sweepstakes, then said I had to buy one of their magazines. I was going to order Weight Watchers magazine so I said I would like that magazine from their Florida organization.
I was sent Money, Living, Travel & Leisure, Shape, ESPN, Muscle & Fitness, and then finally Weight Wathcers magazine.
So far I've recieved two and three of each and wrote a letter along with a delinquent account notice, I paid almost one hundred dollars for four years of Weight Watchers in order to win a Sweepstakes. I've recieved nothing but junk mail concerning any sweeps.
They will just have to take it up in court when I claim chapter 7 Bankruptcy this coming May and hire a detective after I've moved from this address come this June.

The noticed inidcated that I had to call them at 1-800-235-6247 to activate my prize ID.

cannot cancel
I got a letter in the mail stating I am in a drawing for a million dollars to call this number.
I called and the company asked for my debit card number and never said they were going to charge anything on it. So I gave them it. I know it was not smart but I just got my memory back because I lost it during a brain surgery. I told them I wish to cancel the whole thing, but they told me it already went through. I am angry because I explained how I had brain cancer and they said it was too late. I know it was not smart to give my debit number out, but I was trying to get some extra income because I live off of social security. I been charged the first payment already and now I am going to be tight on money for the next week. Todd Ruccolo

they almost got away with a rip-off
they sent a second notice letter to enter sweepstakes.
So I did, and then the woman proceeds to say now that you entered you are qualified for 2 free watches, and you can have the opportunity to buy 3 magazines for the price of $1.29.. she then says if you did buy, what magazine would you chose, so I told her, the next thing I know I had another lady on the line asking for my card number, I told her I wasn't buying and that the letter stated that I didn't have to purchase to enter.. she then says well we can listen to the recording, I said fine, but I am not buying magazines at this time and I never once said that I was buying! I am on disability and my husband is the only one working at this time and magazines are not at the top of the list of a must have item. She argues with me that this is a good deal, and that my card won't be billed unless the card company agrees that the funds are there..blah blah.. when I said no again she wanted to go back to the recording.. I knew that this had to be a scam for sure then, so I just hung up. But I did go to the Better Business Bureau site and report this.. I was lucky enough not to give out my info, but I can see where people are getting in trouble with this organized crime scam company. I hope by reporting this stuff we can help someone else before they get into trouble. Believe me when I say, I will tell everyone I know or who will listen about this scam.

over charge
I agreed to let this company charge me 44.72 - 4 times (monthly) for magazine subscriptions.
They have billed me six times and have not responded to my email requesting refund and demanding them to stop charging. These charges caused overdraft fees on my account in the amount of $52 which I believe they are also responsible for since only 4 charges were agreed upon.
I cannot find a way to contact them - there is no number on the bank statement.

Fraud Alert
I noticed some strange charges on my credit cards company. I forgot to ask my husband about it. The next month there was another one National Magazine Exchange had debited two payments of $67.09 each. I called the company who told me my husband had ordered the magazines. I told her that would be so unlike him. She said he was recorded giving his permission to charge his credit card. We had not received any magazines and I asked what they were. "Martha Stewart Living" (He cannot stand her.), "Popular Mechanics", "Weight Watchers", "ESPN", Complementary "Fast Co" ? Auto M?" I said he would be livid when he found out he had been charged for these. She said, "Why would he be livid. He ordered them." He gave his permission for his credit card to be charged. I told her I could not believe he understood that. She said. "Oh really?" I hung up and called back again to get more info. I then found out that we were scheduled to be charged two more payment of $67.09. I said I wanted to cancel the orders as we had not received any of the magazines. She said they couldn't do that but she would work something out with me. I was so frustrated I just said I would talk to my bank. I'm going to call the Florida Attorney General and complain to them.

RIP-OFF
I got a letter from NME, but at the time did not know who they were as the letter did not give it, so i went on line and typed in the phone number that was on the letter that is how i found out who they were. When i first got the letter I thought gee this would be great to win some money, sure can use it, but then i got to tinking about it wondering who this came from, so like i said went on line to check it out. There i found a lot of unhappy people who had been riped off, but what i dont understand is why do people give out there credit card info in the firts place to people they dont even know any thing about with out checking it out first. I am glad i did, i riped up the letter and put it where it belonged, in the trash. Please people think first before you act on something like this, dont you know there is nothing in this world that is free?

THAT WAS A LIE. instead in the mail i received a sheet saying " if you do not send 80.00 dollars for the mags you will be reported to a collection agency."
