Got screwed
It just *** me off that companies like this send honest people this kind of crap, and you know most people won't read things thoroughly before they call the number because all they see is the money. It"s just a crying shame that the company has to revert to scamming people just to sell some magazines. Times are hard and everyone hopes to be the next Big winner but end up being screwed. Its America people don't be dishonest, we have enough of that in the world don't we? I just hope that people read things throughly and understand what they read before they get screwed.

magazine subscriptions
My husband talked me into calling in response to a letter saying I could be the next two million dollar winner. He has been out of work since January, 2009 and said it would be nice to have the money. So, I reluctantly called and immediately found myself in a battle trying not to order magazines. The first person who answered kept saying well what are the three magazines you would pick of this group. When I would answer I don't want any magazines because we don't have time to read them, or extra money to spend on them, she repeated the question. Of course, I didn't just hang up because I didn't want to loose my entry in the sweepstakes. Huh! Stupid me. There probably isn't even a sweepstake. Then I was passed onto a "supervisor" who wouldn't give up until I gave him my credit card number. When I tried to find a website to cancel the transaction after I came to my senses, I got the website talking about what a scam this is. Now it will cost me more to dispute or cancel the charges than to just go ahead and pay for magazines I didn't want in the first place. I don't know who I am more upset with, them for running such a scam or myself for falling for it.

Wrongly notified of price
I requested to reiceve country living and seventeen for a price of $1.99 each and then i was supposed to recieve martha stewart living for free. I just recieved a letter in the mail saying that i sent out for 7 different magazines and now owe $67.08. I was wondering why the price is so much more now and why 4 more magazines were added to my order. Please cancel my request for these magazines. thank you.

Cancelation policy
My 81 year old Grandmother, somewho authorized for 10 new magazines. But doesnt remember doing this, she said she did not call anyone to order magazines. So I called this National Magazine Exchange just like the letter that we received says. They said that on April 08, 2009 she authorized them to charge her credit card in the amount of 67.08. The letter says "Orders may be cancelled within 7 days from receipt of this letter by writing or calling customer service.". Well, This letter was written on April 8th and according to the envelope that it came in, it was not mailed until April 14th. Then we received this on April 16th. I called April 17th to cancel. i was told that i could not cancel because this is what she agreed to . Then i spoke with someone else and she said what she could do is refund 1/2 of the 1st payment. and only mail out the 3 out of the 10 magazines for 1 year. I feel that this company is wrong and Per their letter of confirmation letter it states that we should be able to cancel this. I feel a full refund should have been submitted and the order to be canceled as requested.

FAILURE TO CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION
When I signed up for the magazines, they told me I had 30 days to change my mind. During this time, they were to send me different magazines to see if I liked their services. On January 21, 2009, I wrote to them and told them that I did not like any of the magazines they were sending, and that they were to cancel my subscription ASAP. I called the next month, when I noticed they had taken out yet
another payment. I told the clerk that I had cancelled the subscription on January 21, 2009, that I did not want any more money coming out of my account. She claimed that they had not received my cancellation, so, I again advised her to cancel the subscription immediately. She said that she was cancelling it at that time, and that I would receive a refund for the last payment. That didn't happen either. Another payment was taken from my account in March. I don't think they are planning to cancel the subscription. Since I have contacted them twice, and twice they told me there were cancelling the subscription, I am wondering what my next step should be.

Please advise me what I should do now.

Fraud/Scam
National Magazine Exchange sent me a letter telling me to get registered for their $2, 1000, 000.00 prize. The letter gave me a deadline and told me to call 1-800-420-5478 to activate my number. I called because I was pretty sure it was a scam and wanted to report them if they were.

When I called, a female immediatly answered the pone asking for my number, confirming my name and address and asked me if I was still a prefered visa, discover or american express card holder. That is when I knew it was a scam. She told me I had been selected to receive two diamond rolexes and 3 magazine subscriptions for a few dollars a month. I refused about 4 times before I hung up the phone.
I did not give them any new information, especially regarding my credit cart or banking information but I knew that accepting the watches and magazine subscriptions would lead to it. SCAMMERS!

Terrible company
They called me and said that they were from the national Magazine Exchange. It was a real friendly man, i do not remember his name but coincidentally we were from the same state!!! and so was the first guy who answered the phone! How ironic! How stupid and naive i was!!! He said he was calling from the credit dept. I asked for what credit card? Do I owe money?? He was calling to tell me I was a potential winner of a 2 million dollar sweepstakes, and to please hold while he gets his supervisor on the phone to take my info for the sweepstakes.

The supervisor sweet talked me, spoke really fast and was so vague on his questions, i started getting confused. He then asked if i wanted several subscriptions to magazines that I liked and bought in stores, for a fraction of the price; it came out to about .60 per magazine, which was a savings of over $2.00 each magazine! I was so excited and agreed. I ordered a one year subscription to parenting magazine, shape, and stay at home moms (i think that was the name he gave me). He said all i had to pay was $67 and change one time, i would be entered into the sweepstakes, and would receive the magazine subscriptions for a year. i was psyched. however time went on, and i started receiving magazines in the mail for Car and driver, Maxim, forbes, all these financial or men's magazines. I received only one Parenting magazine, and never received anything else except for these bullsh*t magazines i have no use for!! I mean I get at least 10 magazines a week, for ones I never ordered!!!

Then i went onto my credit card's web site where i had placed the purchase through, and lo and behold I see all these charges from at least several companies in the past two months since i subscribed. one charge is for NME*MAGAZINE ORDER 866-312-4233 FL $67.08 on 11/14/08, NME*MAGAZINE ORDER 866-312-4233 FL $67.08 on 12/16/08, AP9*ATHOMEREWARDS 888-425-5874 CT $19.95 on 1/1/09, NME*MAGAZINE ORDER 866-312-4233 FL $67.08 on 1/16/09, AP9*ATHOMEREWARDS 888-425-5874 CT $19.95 on 2/22/09, $67.08 from NME*MAGAZINE ORDER 866-312-4233 FL on 2/24/09!!! I called the national magize exchange myself complain. they never answered their phones. it goes right to a voicemail box where i left three messages, three days in a row. the message states they will return your call by the next business day. this was last week. i never got a call back. I am so upset and furious that I have been scammed!!!

I just called my credit card company and had to cancel my card and get a new one. Can someone please help me? I want my money back! I don't want these subscriptions to magazines I NEVER ORDERED EITHER! Plus the ones i did pay for i never even got except for one magazine, and i only received it once last month! I was told when i signed up it was only one charge for the $67.00 for the 12 month subscription for the three magazines i believe. but he spoke so fast i could not understand everything. please help me! I have been scammed!!!
