Illegal charges
National Transport LLC...my husband and I are a military family. Wewere being relocated. I called National Transport LLC on 4/21/11 Thursday. I spoke to Leslie. This call was made on my work phone, which is a recorded line. I explained to her that my husband and I were relocating due yo military duty, and we needed transportation for our vehicle by 04/26/11 Tuesday. I explained the importance of having it done then. She said that would be fine. I told her I would call the next day with my credit card info for the deposit, as we had just gotten married that weekend and our new bankcards were in the mail. She said she could set it up without that and I could call on 04/21/11 and give her the card number and the contact person info. She said she would send a confirmation email in 15 min. I called back, gave them my credit card info, contact info for an additional person just in case I wasn't there yet for delivery. I informed that I still did not receive an email. The girl was very rude. She said check your spam..i said I do not have a spam on my email. I have it setup where it's guarded and I don't receive any spam emails. So she sent it again and I received it. She explained that they would contact me later that day to inform me what time the driver would be there. They would debit my act after authorization from me, but for some reason they did not know how much they would debit to tell me in advance. She said after the contract is signed, they would start processing. I asked her, are you sure you can provide transportation by 04/26/11, because wehave to be gone by that date? She confirmed that they would. I never rcvd a call back from National Transport LLC. I called them on 04/26/11 and ask them where was the driver. They informed me that they did not have a driver. She said they may get one later but it's a process they go through and the driver has to supply insurance info and sign the contract. I explained to her that my husband and I would be gone, as we have mulitary duties, we would not be there after the 26th, to sign the pick up papers or to give the keys to the driver..she said there was nothing they could do. . After our call I ccontacted United Transportation. They said they y could pick up our cars in a couple hours. I called National Transport LLC to inform they that we would have to cancel. The girl was EXTREMELY rude. She said, you should have booked priority and proceeded to tell me what priority was. I told her, when I spoke to Leslie, she explained to me that priority meant the driver would deliver the car within 1 to 4 days. Since my husband and I were DRIVING and making alot of stops in between, we did not need the car in 4 days, so the standard delivey was fine. I asked her to pull the conversation and listen to it. She said fine. They found a driver and they would charge a fee to cancel. Now I had just spoke to them 10 minutes before and they said they didn't have a driver. Now, since I want to cancel, 10 min later, they have a driver??? She said it would be up to the manager whether or not I was charged a fee. The manage TERESA out of FL gets on the line and explains there process of how they have to find a driver, check his insurance onfo, have him sign papers and fax in before they give him the contract. Teresa said they don't share this information with there customers because they don't want the customer to worry. Teresa said they had in fact found a driver on Monday but he was not able to get the papers in, so they had to start over..After she finished, I was floored. I explained to her my converstaion with Leslie as well as her other reps. I explained to he the time schedule we had and her people confirmed a driver would be there that day. I asked her, due to the nature of our relocation, why would you not share with us that you did not have a driver in advance, and why would you want to harge and you haven't done anything?. She explained that since I had spoke to them that morning, which was now about 20 min ago, they found a driver..and if I canceled they would charge me 30%..my husband, who is a Captain, spoke to her, explained our side as well..While we were speaking to her, she charged our credit card without any authorization. We have gone through the channels to report the ompany, we turned them in, we shared this info with the base to inform other soldiers and families to avoid this company. I looked online and read all the consumer reports and complaints about this company. So many people have filed complaints. The problem is that this is an independently owned company by investors and they are silent partners. But that's fine. Because we will not stop here. We intend to take our story as far as it will go. These people stole money and did not provide a service at all. The authorization form they sent me after they debited my acct was thanking me for my transaction. This was not a cancellation fee like Teresa explained. I was so disappointed with the service and just the fact that they would do us like that. It was not about the money, it was more so about treating us like real people that went to them for a service, which they did not do, but chrged us over 200 dollars. W have just arrived at our location this week. United transport has been AMAZING!!! To any soldier or anyone that reads this, Chris and the whole United Transport team really came through. They heard our story and jumped on it. By 3 that same day, they had a driver at my place and my car arrived safely at the destination and they allowed one of our co workers to sign for it. We are thankful we arrived safely and it all worked out. We are in the process of trying to settle in, but we are seeking counsel. I will not sit back and allow these people to take advantage of other innocent people out there. I will continue to file complaints on them for what they did and we will not stop until we are heard and something is done. Please, if you are trying to move your vehicles, please do NOT call this company...they are not in your best interest...PLEASE all military officials, personnel, DO YOUR RESEARCH...CHECK WITH YOUR BASE, they will have information for you about companies to avoid..
