We are receiving 3 to 6 calls a week which immediately tells you it is a scam. You push either 2 or 9 to be removed from the list, and you get another call the next day. These are independent sellers, and the number that appears is usually a home business number. They start off telling lies. 1) your auto warranty has recently expired - truth is they are guessing, they have no way of knowing. Mine expired 6 years ago. 2) I don't have your auto information in front of me - truth is they don't have a clue what car you have, or if you even have a car. 3) We sent you information several times now though the mail -the truth is that they haven't postage would cost too much. 4) Pressed for a printed copy of their warranty they said it is the same as the warranty in my glove compartment. - True is it is not, and they will strongly contest any claims you make. 5) The initial salesman even claimed the warranty was from Toyoda, then noticed that I had told him it was a Dodge Intrepid, and changed that to Dodge. - truth is they are not affiliated in any way with any car manufacturer. I finally got transferred to his supervisor (another home office) who tried to close me for a sum over $2, 000 with several ways to pay for it. The coverage with be for 5 years or 100, 000 miles. Sounds great considering I told them that my car was a 2000 Dodge Intrepid with 365, 000 miles on it. The car has been a dream to get that many miles on it, but no one is going to off to keep it on the road for 100, 000 miles (2 1/2 more years the way I drive) for $2, 000. The engine is using a quart of oil every 4, 000 miles and the transmission has some noise in it. I will take the $2, 000 and make a down payment on another car.
FYI if you want to bug these two hucksters yesterday's salesman's phone number is 201-221-3044, and today's salesman is 201-257-4004. Personally I like to get them started talking and then just lay the phone down - wasting their time just like they waste ours. Another description of their rip off is at /URL removed/#272180
