Fraudulent Sales Tactics

I registered for an ecommerce course with Prosper Learning last year which costs about $10000. I found out that they actually have their share of complaints here as well. Prosper has a lot of companies they are affiliated with and a lot of times they refer their students to. That's how they help each other to make money and that appeared to be their only goal.

I signed up for a lot of services they referred me to, such as website design, hosting, computer security and so on. Among them, Wholesale Match and Nationwide Corporate Services LLC are the ones I paid a total of $5000 and got nothing out of. In fact, the website of Wholesale Match seems to disappear in the thin air.

Nationwide Corporate Services LLC contacted me and persuaded me to register my company as a LLC in Delaware USA last year. They said it is cheaper and beneficial to do so in Delaware even though I live in BC Canada. Cheaper, I wouldn't say so, after being charged $1995 USD one time fee plus $59.95 monthly fee for an address in Delaware and paying Taxsentry $1290 one time fee plus $29.95 for accounting. The one time fee for BC to register as a LLC is $600 CAD. When Nationwide approached me, they said that in Delaware there is no sales tax but only gross receipt sales, so there is no need to charge sales tax. I asked a few times about how the tax situation work for me and they said that my company is going to be an American owned Canadian company and my company follows the tax law in Delaware. They even emailed me a copy of how the sales tax works in Delaware. When I told them that I import products from oversea and I asked them if it is ok, they said no problem and it doesn't matter. But in fact, it really matters. People from Nationwide Corporate Services have no knowledge of Canadian tax law yet posed as expert and gave out completely wrong information to lure customers to purchase their services. It turned out to be a huge headache when UPS phoned me to get a new business number after I emailed them the new LLC information. I phoned Revenue Canada on many occasions and found out that I have to report my income tax here locally in BC anyway and I need to charge sales tax once my sales hit $30000 or I can register for HST number now and start to collect sales tax even before I hit $30000. Basically it doesn't help me in any way to register my company in Delaware, Revenue Canada said the only way don't have to report the sales locally is only when I am selling software system.

Nationwide is still charging me the monthly fees on my credit card because they are not canceling my account, and worse still, I am paying interest on that. I feel strapped and tired because I am a single mom supporting two kids, working a day job, trying to work on my website and of course trying to deal with this sticky situation.

Fraudulent Sales Tactics

I signed up for a course offered by Prospering Inc (I signed up for their ecommerce course for over $10000), which I found out now that they have their share of complaints. Prosper Learning is associated with a lot of other companies in Utah that they refer their students to, this is how they help each other to make money and that's their only goal.

I paid for website design, hosting, computer security and other services. Among them, there are two in particular I have paid for and get nothing out of. Wholesale Match, their website has been down for a while and no more news from them. I paid $1000 for a life time membership and now what.

Another company I signed up for is Nationwide Corporate Services LLC. They persuaded me to register my company as a LLC in Delaware USA. I asked multiple times about how it can apply to me in Canada and whether it will work for me and how the sale tax situation will work out. They told me without hesitation that my company is going to be an American owned Canadian company and it is cheaper to set up a LLC in Delaware. Revenue Canada explained that it is only when I am selling software systems on the internet then I can do it the way I did with Nationwide. It was a huge headache just to figure out what to do about my confusing situation. I talked to my accountant and my friend's brother who is an accountant as well and they told me why put myself in such a complicated situation. People in Nationwide Corporate Services have no knowledge of Canadian tax law but posed as they did and gave out completely wrong information to lure people to purchase their services. The time, money and energy should have been better spent to promote my business which is not making money right now. Yet still, my credit card is being charged on a monthly basis because they are not canceling my account. I am paying interest to the money they are charging right now and feeling strapped and tired because I am a single mom who are supporting two kids, working a day job and trying to work on my website and off course dealing with this sticky situation.
