Their response was non compliance and the excuse was bogus
I paid for coverage for 9 months. problem with my 4 year old washer and spent 12 days trying to get a repair. At the end of 12 days I ws told it was not covered. Nothing in the contract excludes this item. Their response was non compliance and the excuse was bogus.
Cancelled my policy as of today and want to warn others.

no service
Do not buy a Nationwide Home Warranty unless you want no service, they refuse to answer calls. The least a home warranty p[rovider could do is answer telephone calls, I was on hold waiting for a claims representative to answer my call for 1 1/2 hours only to be disconnected.

Won't get job done
We bought this warranty and did not realize until recently that this is the company from hell. Dealing with the people is like dealing with someone who is deaf, blind and basically dumb. They will not pick up the phone and even if they do, they will put you on hold for hours. My husband actually only got through once the whole of today after trying almost twenty times.
They promised a technician to come by to work on the cooktop, it has been three weeks. Now, they say that they are unable to find a technician. Then they keep promising.
They find all kinds of excuses to scrutinize the policy and lie and cheat till death.
Am so screwed. Please do something from allowing this company to screw the people of the USA!

Warranty Scam
If you're reading this, I'm sure you already know that Nationwide Home Warranty is absolutely awful. If you don't believe the reviews, just check the Better Business Bureau--I've included a link.
They are not a BBB accredited company, and they receive an "F" rating on a scale from A+ to F. Conversely, American Home Shield is an accredited company, and received and A+ rating.
That should tell you enough. Steer clear of Nationwide Home Warranty.

I SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH NATIOWIDE HOME WARRANTY IN MAY OF 2009 I WAS INFORMED BY THE REP WHO DREW UP MY CONTRACT THAT I COULD PLACE A CLAIM WITHIN 30 FROM THAT DAY. I DID. I WAS DENIED THE CLAIM BEFORE NATIONWIDE SENT OUT ANY TECHS TO MY HOME. I HAD PLACE SEVERAL CLAIMS. THEY ALL WERE DENIED. NO SERVICEMEN WERE SENT OUT TO MY HOME. YET, NATIONWIDE WAS DEBITING A MONTHLY FEE FROM MY CHECKING ACCOUNT. I CONTACTED THE COMPANY. EACH MANAGER THAT I HAD SPOKEN TO GAVE ME A RUDE RESPONSE. I WAS SO DISCUSSED WITH NATIONWIDE THAT I CONTACTED THEM TO CANCEL MY CONTRACT. THE MEMBER OF MANAGEMENT THAT I HAD SPOKEN TO LAUGHED AND INFORMED ME THAT HE WILL NOT CANCEL MY CONTRACT. I THEN CONTACTED MY BACNK AND ASKED THEM WHAT I COULD DO TO STOP NATIONWIDE FROM CONTINUING TO DEBIT MY ACCOUNT. THE ONLY THING I COULD DO WAS TO CANCEL MY DEBIT CARD. I DID. I ONLY REGRET THAT I DID NOT CANCEL MY DEBIT CARD SOONER.

Dishonest Company
Claim process was a nightmare. I was on hold for over an hour finally hung up called back and pressed 1 for sales and what do you know someone picked up right away. Was put on hold again and after another 15 min. of hold was connected to a claims person (which suspiciously sounded just like the sales person I spoke with previously). They asked what the problem was and said a service tech would contact me within 24hrs. I was uncomfortable with the whole experience so I proceeded to contact a plumber who I knew worked with this company in the past and asked if they still contracted services through Nationwide. He informed me they stopped using Nationwide due to non-payment of services. hmmm I proceeded to contract the repair myself and call Nationwide back to cancel the claim I had put in. Before canceling the claim I asked if they would prorate my contract and refund the remaining 4 months left on my contract...His response- I see your contract expired on Jan 1st of this year. I told him you just processed a claim on this contract 10 min ago and he said I see that and will notify claims right now that this contract is expired. I than proceeded to provide him proof of the purchase date and he quickly said something I couldn't understand and hung up on me. This company is seriously shady and should not be in business. I hope people take these complaints seriously and do not purchase a warranty from these guys.

Unpaid claim
Unpaid Claim, Poor Customer Service, Rip Off Because Policy Will Not Cover what it said it would cover. My furmace broke in December, Nationwide made me wait 2 weeks, with no heating in Michigan below zero tempertures, and after 2 weeks told me to call my own twchnician and submit it for reimbursment. After it was repaired and paid by me, they denied payment.

Would not honor contract agreement
About a year ago, we purchased a homeowners warranty plan. We needed some plumbing work done. We followed the proper protocol and were denied. The plumber told them that the shower and bath stems needed replacing and that they met the guidelines for replacement. They still denied us. Oh, it took us forever to get through to the company. They are a ripoff and scam. Do not do business with this company.

This company robbed me for a whole year, i asked them to cancel me they say i had to stay with them a year then they will cancel me.Mine you that should be Feb./2010 they just took another 89.oo out of my account, i want my money all of it Nationwide even the money you robbed me for all of last year when you didn't fix my dishwasher, AND STOP TAKING MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT

rip off ,fake,poor response
when my water heater started to leak in my garage i called they were very eager to have contract signed document since it was done opver the phone not to mention that the contract was on month to month started eight months ago, any way some local plumber showed up and suggested that needs replacement well it all went down the hill from their not resonsible enough after putting you on hold for 20 min calls were dropped, now they are asking for maintence well that is the warranty we bought thinking the manafacture warranty expired well get them to cover the breakage .buy boy were we wrong...
