No Complaint
Now the only complaint I have is getting a phone call from an unknown number. But in the end it all turned out GREAT!!! Although in the long run you might think that magazines are useless...but they are not I tell you. I have been able to switch out my selections, and I have Soldier of Fortune, Buttman, Game Pro, and Cosmo for a friend. As for all the scmucks that want to talk bad about this company, no one made you give them your Credit Card number. You could have hung up at any time. And You knew you were buying a subscription. So stop crying babies. Now, the most important reason I am a Really satisfied customer is...I WON THE SWEEPSTAKES FOR 2010!!! I got a $100, 000!!! Wow, I know, and I thought nobody won those things. So, to all those who want to say NRS is a scam, well I say to you, grow up, take responsibility for your own actions. Next time, dont answer your cell phone. S.C.L

Scamming Money
Okay, so about 5 or 6 months ago I had gotten a phone call in the early morning about how I had been entered in a contest with wells fargo&was up to win a car&a large sum of cash.Well, somehow the guy on the other end of the phone convinced me to sign up to recieve 4 magazines, for what he said at the beginning to be $20 a months, which I had no problem paying. Then, he led me on this wild ramble & kept saying $68.75.When he asked what price he just said, I repeated $68.75 unaware that I was agreeing to pay that!Well, after they withdrawled that & I got charged an overdraft fee, I was furious that I was having to pay the bank almost $100 back! The first time I had called, I was hung up on.The second time, I was harassed by someone who(and I'm speaking honestly)knew very little english&was yelling at me.
I called everyday for about the next month trying to get this company to return the money. At first, they told me I was unable to do so, they simply said they would lower the price to help me out.And when I stated I wanted to cancel the subscriptions, they told me I couldn't do that either because I had agreed to a 2 yr. contract!I was however, able to contact 2 of the magazine companies directly and cancel. When I called the next day to Nationwide Reader and informed them that I had done so, they informed me that I couldn't do that and the only way that I would be able to cancel the subscription was with them. When I told the supervisor that is what I had wanted to do, he simply told me in a condisending voice I couldn't because I agreed to the contract and I had to honor it because it would make their company look bad because I failed to comply(because running a scam like that doesn't make the company look worse!).
This is the part I hope will help someone else in this situation!
I called again once a day about 3 more days demanding(not asking) for the money to be put back into my account&for the subscription to be cancelled.I finally was able to speak to a supervisor that was understanding about everything&told me she would put it in to return the money&they wouldn't touch my account until june 1st. When I asked her how long it would take to return the money, she informed me it should be immediately & I could return to the bank within an hour to make sure everything was settled. When I went to the bank an hour later, they had told me that no money transfer was happening!I calle furious but was told the transfer was pending and should happen within 3 days. The woman on the other end of the phone also told me how odd it was that money was being returned because they don't ever do that kind of thing, she even went back to the supervisor to make sure it was legit!
My word of advice, don't fall for it!And if it does happen to you, call back everyday until they say they will return the money! Also, cancelling your card would be ideal!I learned from a friend of mine that had the same thing happen to her that they cannot come after you to pay the the money for the 2 yrs if you state in the phone call(which is being recorded)that you want to cancel!Don't be afraid to take the steps to protect your money&yourself!
And to those that work for Nationwide Reader, you all simply disgust me at how easily it is for you to pull this type of scam !

Taking money from bank account
I noticed I had about $68 taken from my account, which sent me into the negative numbers. As an unemployed high school graduate trying to get into college, it really is hurting my credit report that this company has taken money from me, has hung up on me twice when I called to talk about the order, then tell me I cannot cancel my subscription with the magazines because I must "honor" the commitment (however, I was able to cancel 2 subscriptions, the other 2 magazines I cannot even find as being legitimate!)

Magazines
My name is Cherita McNeal and I recieved a call from Nationwide Reader Service saying that I was entered into a sweepstakes through Wellsfargo bank. I was told by Angel, the secretary, and Terry Davis, the supervisor of Nationwide Reader Service, that I could recieve five years worth of magazines from any five companys for a reduced price of $68.28. He said that my tracking number is 8136905 and my order number is c-208. When i tried to go to the site I realized that i was scammed. I have already paid the payment of 68.28 in early January, and i am afraid that they will continue to take money out of my account.

can't get a hold of company to cancel
I got a call from the company who asked for me by name and told me my address and told me of the this offer that I reluctantly took and I researched the company and found out it was a scam. I received a letter about the service with a list of the magazines that I chose. I just tried to call the back to change and/or cancel and the number they gave me I called and some old women answered so it wasn't the right number. I just want to keep them from charging my credit card.
