Catalog Order Call
I received a call, caller ID stipulates "unavailable" the caller's name was Jon (not sure of its spelling but its pronounced "John") as soon as I said "hello", John immediately said "Yolanda" as if he knew/know me and then began the script, he entered me basically without my permission with the fast talk, so I just listened in. I must have "visa card" somehow they knew that I was and knew that I resided in Texas, so I am not paying attention verified my address then later it hit me that John didn't know my address. He stated throughout the call he was with NRS, never told me what the acronyms meant. So once I started with my questions, Jon transferred me to his supervisor name "Felicia" and she was a fast talker too but I slowed her role down to a screeching halt and she got agitated with me because I wanted to know how much I be paying in a year for the order, she said $220 for a catalog of which I elected four magazines (don't know exactly what the magazines were for and how I elected four(I believe Jon pulled that fast one) and I asked her is there a cancellation fee, she said "I have three days to cancel", I rephrased my question "If I cancel two months later is there a cancellation fee, she said "no" but a complaint already posted from 2008 stated $300 cancellation fee was assessed when called to cancel the services, I didn't disclose to Ms. Felicia that I was on this site looking at the "scam/complaint" information. I kept on asking question after question and she then very abruptly with a slightly higher tone began to answer, I could literally see her answer by the tone of her voice. I asked her why would I pay that money for a catalog from them when I can order my own magazines, she said they have already pre-paid the companies (i.e. jet, house beautiful, allure, shape). I immediately smelled a scam and because they called me "unavailable" I was able to call them back tomorrow but Felicia did tell me what the "NRS" stood for and that is why I put their name here. Please watch out and do not be scammed by these scamming and it should be a law against this type of harrassing tactics.
