I was contacted by a telemarketer from Raleigh (919-323-3331) stating that she obtained my telephone number from GNC. She told me about two diet products, "Natural Nectar" and "Appetite Crush", that I could try "free" for one month and pay for only the cost of shipping and handling which was $11.94. She said the products sold for $79.95 and $69.95. I told her I couldn't afford them. She encouraged me to try them for a month and said if I liked them, I could get them at discounted prices. She guaranteed I'd lose 15 pounds the first month and was sure I'd be very happy with the products, which would only cost me $11.94. I asked her if they'd be shipped every month unless I called to cancel them every month. She was a little vague but said I could cancel any time. She gave me two 866 numbers to call as soon as the products arrived. I gave her my credit card information.
Five minutes later, I realized I did not want to rack up ANY more credit card debt and called back the caller I.D. number our phone had captured. The young man who answered said there was no one by that young lady's name working there. I said, "Oh, no. I just ordered something from her!" He said they had "another building down the street" and maybe she'd called from there. He took all my information and assured me the order was cancelled.
Today, January 19, the products arrived by mail. I refused them. Then I called all the numbers I'd been given and was told I couldn't cancel and if I didn't want the products I shouldn't have given them my credit card information! I said I certainly knew that! Also, when I called today, the name "Natural Nectar" had been changed to "Brazilian Gold."
I knew I'd been scammed.
I want to confirm Anonymouse Mickey's warning to stay away from these people.
