I cannot believe that while viewing the latest Dateline piece dubbed "Mean Girls" I was ambushed by raw REAL video footage of a crime scene interview as well as the actual scenes of a man dying. A darling 21 year-old man was laying on the floor with a bullet hole through his forehead. As the EMT worked to save his life, one medic lifted his the young man's oxygen mask away from his face to ask him, "who shot you Ricky?" The young man, bleeding from his forehead, softly said, "my neck hurts." He died from his wounds 2 days later.
NBC, if you or your loved one was dying on video, would you want it broadcasted? Furthermore, if you were that poor young man fighting for his life, would you want it aired on TV after you died?
I am sick at the lack of respect you and your producers, editors, and writers have shown by airing this piece. I in no way, shape, or form would have watched your show this evening had I been WARNED of its contents. In the very least you should have warned your viewers.
I have studied criminal law in 4 countries, I am an true crime buff (First 48, ect) and I have NEVER seen something so disrespectful and graphic on television.
NBC, you should be ashamed!
