Poor customer service is a gross under-statement
I have just been to Nedbank, Bizana and poor customer service is a GROSS under-statement. I WENT INTO THE BRANCH AT 10H50 AND WAS ONLY ASSISTED AT 12H06 . Left the branch at 12h11. So much for “we'll donate R50 to the charity of your choice if you wait more than 5 minutes.” What aggravated the situation is the fact that a certain Winnie Ndobe was sitting shuffling papers totally oblivious to the torture we were going thru, manager's door was also closed – no initiative or action to assist us customers who have been there for a good hour. Surely if a manager picks up that there is a backlog – some action has to be taken. Any action would have been better.

I've had it with Nedbank – they are all talk and no action. Recently they have decided that as a cost-cutting exercise Shelly Beach branch is no longer giving out money clips. Customers have to buy their own – ironically when you deposit money they do not give you back your money clips – you have to ask for them back. Nedbank has gone to the dogs – if you ask me. I am actively looking for another bank. This is the last straw.

crap service
nedbank is a waste of time they waste your valuable time and then they still have banners in their branch that your time is precious to them. I think they are the worst bank in existence . I will never ever go their again and i would advise people to go to standard bank the service is much better and the people are much more friendly. they are more helpfull and they willing to assist you. they make you feel like you their only customer

Poor service and never get the same answer
I applied for a loan at Nedbank on the 11th March 2010, they then told me that a courier service will get in touch with me within 24-48 hours in order to organise a time when they could come and drop documents off which I then need to sign! It is now the 19th March 2010 and I have not heard anything!!! I have called your call centre on numerous occasions asking what is going on? At the beginning of the week I was told that the courier service would call me within 24 hours, then I called again this morning and spoke to someone and said that this should have be approved already, and that if the courier service doesn't phone me by 13:00 I must give the call centre another call! I phoned the call centre yet again and spoke to a guy who now says that the documents are still sitting in the queue for the courier service! When asked why it's taking so long, they call centre agent, then told me that it does take so long when you apply for a loan via phone. But then PLEASE tell me why then do you guys tell your clients the courier service will phone you in 24-48 hours and then nothing happens!!! And also why does every call centre agent have a different story? Please guys come on!

Pathetic service from Nedbank Management Rivonia
Still awaiting the phone call of the team leader from Nedbank Rivonia to conatct me with a complaint lodged two weeks ago. Went into the bank last year to change stop order date was given a form with the banks stamp on it saying its been changed only to find out that it was never actioned on the system. So i went into the bank on the 2nd of march this year, spoke to the 'team leader' who was supposed to help me personally and get to the bottom of the problem, its now two weeks gone i have not received a single call from him or the branch manager Shirley. Have left more than five messages for either of the to contact me and uptil now they have not. All i can say to the public is DONT BELEIVE NEDBANKS ASK ONCE THEORY.Always do a follow up on your request especially if its Nedbank Rivonia!!!

No client service or care to give service
I was offered a Perm Gold Credit card about 16 years ago. Never asked for it or needed it as I bank with absa. I did however habe a bond with the perm. Nedbank then took over the perm and my accounts then fell to nedbank. I wont go over all the problems I had with nedbank home owners insurance on my Bond account with a balance of R7000. After having this credit card for 16 years never missing any payments and always settling my card in full, I was told in Late December to go the alberton branch and collect my new card. In middle january I collected my new card after standing 2hours in the information queue. I have given up trying to get credit card statements from nedbank timeously and got them instead at the atm at an additional cost to myself monthly. So in february i did just that. The card was retained by the atm and was told to contact my branch. I phoned to block the card only to find out that my card was already blocked as early as december before I even collected it. Yet my account was active. I phoned card division where i was told that I had complained about a admin fee(never contacted nedbank) and the card was blocked. I lost R50 in my acc and happy to rid of nedbank.

Letter of rescission requested and not supplied
Nedbank took default judgement on my account which i have already settled. Nedbank promised to proviode me with a letter of rescission to be e-mailed but have failed to deliver dispite request.

Nedbank Northgate you should be ashamed
After losing my bag in a traumatic incident last week, I have spent countless hours trying to piece my life together. This is not easy, but I must say that certain companies I've dealt with, have made the experience much more bearable. Nedbank Northgate, under the management of Joey Russouw has the honour of reducing me to tears because I could not meet their requirements of providing 2 forms of ID in order to collect my card.

After having Joey wave her hand at me dismissively in the middle of my complaint, I thought that was the most offensive thing a customer could endure. But not so, Ms Russouw then decided that there was no further point in dealing with my complaint and began tidying her desk. She would not answer my demands to know why I have to submit FICA documentation repeatedly, at her branch, and refused flatly to accept my passport as a form of ID. She even was bold enough to state that she is the only bank that follows the rules of FICA and 'the others' just do as they please.

There isn't sufficient space to tell the whole story here, but I hope readers get the gist. Nedbank, pull up your socks, even Std Bank provided better service than you!

25 Days and still no final answer on Homeloan appl
It has been 25 days since I have submitted my home loan application and every day I get the excuse that it is either with credit or at the valuators and different people even give me different answers. Why do Nedbank take 25 days to process one home loan application when other banks take 3 to 5 days? I am very disappointed in the service of Nedbank Home Loan department and demand that I get an answer regarding my application as soon as possible. I call the call centre and contact persons every day to find out what the status is and have sent numerous e-mails to both contacts: Ahmed Kassim & Cookie Mudaly. They told me that it was an internal problem and not my fault and that the documents that I submitted 25 days ago are correct. I would like to know what the normal turn-around for applications is and why there is no supervisor or manager that can assist me in dealing with this matter. As a result of this waiting period of 25 days I was instructed by the Nedbank consultant (Ahmed) to take a less favorable option from another bank as Nedbank was unable to give me an answer and the period given to me by the seller to obtain a loan and the quotations from other institutions expired.

Charged fees on a closed account
Went in to Nedbank, Sandton City in November 2009 to close an account. Sat with a consultant who did the necessary stuff on the system and calculated the amount to pay back to me in cash after taking the necessary fees due to them. Got paid and left thinking that my account was now closed.

Today I get an sms saying that my account is overdrawn. Called in to the call centre (ref: 45584420) and was told that my account was not actually closed, and fees have now added up. They say they will refer it to the branch, but what guarantee do I have that I wont be blacklisted because of their mistake??? I want this sorted out immediately. Nothing but terrible service from Nedbank, from the call centre to the branch. Now they know why I closed my account.

Oh, and none of the call centre managers or team leaders have phone numbers or email addresses. So you can't even follow up on your own query directly with them.. How useless...

Non closure of account
In December 2009 I went into the branch in Musgrave Center and closed my personal account as I wanted to keep my business and personal accounts seperate. All the necessary documentation was signed and completed and as the account was over drawn a deposit was made before the closure as indicated by the bank person doing the closure.

Needless to say this account was never closed and to date is still running. I have lost thouands of rands as a result thereof AND NOW I WANT ALL MY MONEY BACK. I am in the process of seeking legal advice and will be approaching the ombudsman with this matter. I fail to understand how this account can still be current? It just shows how much incompetance is actually employed at the banks and why the financial situation is the way it is. All because its NOT THEIR money that they are throwing away.
