I find the overall customer service from Nedbank pathetic
I have been paying more than the required homeloan installment as I knew that I would have access to this through NEDREVOLVE should I need it (or so I thought). I contacted the Homeloans dept & they recommended that I go into the branch & obtain a readvance as this was the only way to get the access funds. 26-09 - Go to branch, leave after waiting for 1h 30min for a banker. 3-10 - go to bank wait for 2 hrs & 10 min & then leave.10-10 - Go to bank, wait over an hr, call manager to explain the frustrating situation only to be told that we must go to another branch as they cannot do anything about the queues (imagine if u wanted to switch accounts!!). Finally get a banker who advises us to apply for the readvance as there are no funds available in NEDREVOLVE. Husband contacted the homeloans helpdesk & gets the same convoluted story. Upon asking what the required installment was vs amt actual paid, & reading a letter that Nedbank had sent stating that any amounts paid in excess of the required installment would be available, the consultant advised that a query will be logged & a reply will be obtained within 7 DAYS!!. I find this & the overall customer service from Nedbank pathetic!!

I am extremely disappointed in the manner in which Nedbank treats its clients
On 20 July 2009 I submitted an insurance claim for R4 240.13 in respect of damage to the motor vehicle of a tenant, resulting from plaster falling off the building owned by the policyholder.
Since this date I have received no correspondence whatsoever regarding this claim. Further correspondence from me included a letter dated 28 September 2009, requesting an update as to the status of the claim.
Once again no response on the part of Nedbank and to date the claim remains outstanding. The complete lack of response to our claim on the part of Nedbank is unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed in the manner in which Nedbank treats its clients. I have been a loyal supporter and client of Nedbank for the past 41 years, both in my personal capacity and in respect of my businesses.

They are pathetic, and are all to keen to take my money but do not follow on their promises to me
I recently opened a cheque account with Nedbank. I was told that I would be given a CHIP AND PIN bank card due to increased card fraud etc.
I drew money from an ABSA ATM and my new chip and pin card was swallowed! I got a replacement card a week later and went to draw cash at an ATM and it happened again. I phoned customer services and was told it was a clash in software between NEDBANK and other ATMS that resulted in the card being swallowed! I was promised that i would not have to pay for the replacement cards, an amount of R125 each!!
They have since charged me for 3 card replacements listed as 'LOST CARD' fee. I have been trying for the last 2months to sort this out and get passed from pillar to post! I have ceased to put money into this account until they rectify the problem! I bank with another institution as well so have used them in the interim.
My account with Nedbank is now overdrawn affecting my credit status. They are pathetic, and are all to keen to take my money but do not follow on their promises to me, the client! Once they have reversed these charges I will settle my account and close it never to bank with NEDBANK in the future!

16 days later and still no feedback
Hi, we went into Nedbank N1 City to do and application for a readvance on our home loan since we still had funds in our access bond which payed registeration fees for.The consultant assist us and even worked out the new installment. I gave him the application form and supporting doc's on the 14 September and was advised it would take 3 days. Today is the 05th October and the application is still pending, but was approved in principal. What a story...I called everyday and was promised a return call but this never happended.
I want positive feedback by the end of the day, or I will close my current account, savings account, credit card and move my home loan cause this is just pathetic service and it is not the first time I get such terrible service.
Why should I be loyal to a bank that doesn't have any regard for customer service, my debit orders go off on time, you don't have to wait for your money why should I have to beg for service...I expect feedback please.

Stay away from Nedbank
Due to financial difficulties I had to make new payments arrangements with Nedbank Personal Loans. As stated, the repayment arrangement would run for a period of 3 months and then be evaluated. Whilst on a business trip this prior week, I saw that the payment that had come off was higher than agreed on and was going to contact them on my return to Johannesburg but received a call on the way back. The conversation was to thank me for my payment and that my payments where now back onto the full monthly installment. On questioning this, the operator found it funny I actually asked. I requested to speak to the manager but was told he wasn’t there but the team leader was. I spoke to the gentleman and he explained that it was company process to evaluate payments after 3 months which I agreed with but told him shouldn't they contact the customer to discuss this as they don’t know the customers financial status. He agreed and apologized that they didn’t. He asked if they should put my payment back to what it was and I declined. Bottom line... Nedbank and most corporate companies need to get there processes right and not just assume. Number one business rule.

Legitimate rip-off
Goodday Up to so far my Everyday account has been fine until I used a fine comb to check my statement and realized that there is money R75 to be exact, taken from time to time and when I called, I was told its a 'LEGITIMATE TRANSACTION'. I was told that since I do not have overdraft I am allowed to be overdrawn and then charged a huge amount of R75. I ask why it does not happen like that with the Savings Account and am told its just how it is setup on the system. Its the first time I hear of legal fraud or corruption or ripoff. What men can do men can also undo. Nedbank are deliberately letting this happen to charge R75. If only making money was this easy for all of us. Shame on you Nedbank, shame on you.

Nedbank takes almost two weeks to complete a task
Saturday 13th September
My hubby and I called into the Nedbank Edenvale Branch. We had been paying extra on our bond and wanted to draw this now and pay school fees. We completed the necessary forms, handed in our ID's and proof of residence and were assured the funds would be in my account by Tuesday 15th.
Wednesday 16th
Still no funds. My hubby calls into the branch (please note that at no time does the branch contact us). He is told there is a block on our bond account and given a call centre number to phone. He contacts the call centre who gives him a reference number. The call centre tells him to take the reference number to his branch. He travels to Nedbank a second time that day and asks who he must give the reference number to. The block is removed and a customer care consultant tells him that the original forms were distroyed and that he and I will need to complete them again.
I write an email to the Branch Manager (I still await a response).
Monday 21st September
Wecall at the branch yet again with ID's and proof of residence. Once again we complete and sign the forms. We are assured that the money will be in my account by Tuesday 22nd September - its still not!

Still being charged for an account closed in april
My father passed away and I was made executor of his estate, and began the process of closing his accounts, opening an estate late account and distributing the funds. This alone was an absolute nightmare due to an extremely incompetent service representative. After months of struggling. numerous phone calls and visits to Nedbank, I managed to sort out the account and distribute the funds to my family. I proceeded to ensure that all the accounts were closed and sat in Christina's office, signed all the forms and was re-assured that all the accounts were closed and I would never have to hear or deal with Nedbank again! Despite all the once again fake promises I have been receiving statements from nedbank charging me for account fees ever since April. I have phoned all the call centre lines and been assured at least 4 times that the accounts are closed and the money I supposedly owe has been credited. In fact Christina phoned and told me she was sorting it out. This was in June! I give up and do not know how it will ever be possible to close this account and put the trauma I am suffering behind me! Please can someone assist me in closing this account?

Trying to close an account for two years
I have tried to buy a car in 22 April 2007and was turn down reason that there was a judgment from Ned bank card. So I call them up and asked them what was going on and I have been informed by a Mrs STELLA MASOYO that there was a outstanding balance of R 15, 033.88 . then I requested a settlement finger of R13521.00 which is valid for seven working and also noted there note that judgement was taken against me, therefore having to appoint a Attorney to rescind it as Ned bank would don't, we will only provide me with a settlement letter that I have received after pay was made 23042007. I have then requested a attorney from Nedbank to handle this matter referring me to use Mahomeds Incorporated to start the rescind mend process that was granted in the Johannesburg Court soon after. I was then contacted on the 13 May 2009 by Mr Thabo Madalane of Nedbank about a outstanding account and then reverting to him with all supporting documents to remove this settle this matter. I have now applied for a bond with Mortgage Innovations SA and have been advised that I still have a judgment with Nedbank after all this time and all this up and down mail this matter is still unresolved.
