My water meter was replaced in mid 2009 by the municipality. They have up to date not changed the meter number on their system and i have been given an estimated reading averaging on 99kl per month which amounts to about R1400 per month for water usage. When i complain, they say that it can take up to a year or longer to have the meter number changed on their system! I have given them affidavits, discussed it with the outsourced company that submits the reading to the municipality, but it is in the hands of the municipality to sort this out. I can not pay less on my account because my water will be cut off. Could you please help and if so, i will forward further details like account number etc.
