Newsletter Administrative Professional Update - THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL FRAUD, a SCAM!!!
I have read some other complaints about this company and Barbara St Marsailles states everything perfectly, though hopefully in this case it won't go so far. They are unethical and I hope they are stopped!!!
I received a phone call (at first seemingly harmless) that was apparently for an administrative free newlsetter & website . The person calling kept sounding hesitant when she would say the name of the company, like she was unsure of what she was supposed to say. This was a Red Flag. She made sure to get my work email address, my name & our business address for the free newsletter. Then she explained that after a free subscription I could cancel at any time or I would be billed $195. What?! I agreed to nothing!!
I took IMMEDIATE issue with this & demanded that she cancel EVERYTHING *right now* - ANYTHING - and that I DID NOT agree to any subscription of any kind and that signing someone up without their direct permission is ILLEGAL. She said it was free for some time period and that I could then cancel by simply going to the website and cancelling there, AND by writing it on something & mailing it in. I told her I was NOT GOING TO DO *ANY* OF THAT, BECAUSE SHE WAS GOING TO CANCEL *EVERYTHING* RIGHT*NOW*. I told her the company WOULD BE REPORTED. I got her full name & told her I wanted her contact information & that of her immediate supervisor also. At this point she asked me to hold on - and then a man picked up the phone - I got his (supposed) name also, and he said that I could cancel anytime, so I reiterated what I had said, that they were NOT going to send me anything, that they were going to CANCEL EVERYTHING & that I *DO NOT WANT*ANYTHING *SENT TO ME. At the end of this, as it was getting to be a heated exchange, the man said "Yeah, well she was trying to get you off the phone! BYE! " and HUNG UP! Ha! What a JOKE of a company! These companies need to be shut down & fined, their owner's jailed.
Now I am going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. And I am going to keep my eyes peeled for any thing from "Newsletter Administrative Professional Update". And I will be sure to cancel where I need to in order to avoid dealings with them. I was so direct that unless they want more of the same, they won't want to deal with me.
Truthfully my own opinion is that these companies just change their names - often - once they receive many complaints, & go on & on in other forms . Maybe they use several at a time. Why would someone stumble repeatedly over a company name - unless they were uncertain of it??? I hope they go under.
