Service is always excellent at Newton Post Ofice.
Today I bought loose Christmas Cards ("Memory Lane") from the rack, no packs available.
NOT in packs of Five which I later obtained from Tanglin Post Office.
At Newton each loose card was charged at $2.00 EACH for TEN and $2.40 EACH for TEN. (Twenty Cards) Total: $44.00
Later at Tanglin the same cards (Memory Lane) came in sealed packs of Five and each pack was charged $3.70
14 packs of FIVE @ $3.70 (Seventy cards) Total: $51.80
When I returned to Newton later this morning I was informed that the loose cards were charged for as stated above.
This seems to be excessive charging but it was what the staff were told to do.
The cards were all of the same quality and size and with envelopes.
I have bought the same for the past five or six years.
What then can the explanation be?
