my money back
my new nissan was in an accident on jan 5th this year
my insurance company in 3 weeks replaced the car totally nissan owes me over 800 dollars
they have lied to me 3 times and said the money was in the mail
when it was not
i called the opp fraud squad and they told me
a lie is not fraud but just poor business practice
and that they could not help me
now i am told that i may get this money in may
5 months after the accident
how do we send a collection agency after an organization this large
and if it was reverse they would want late payment charges and interest and God knows what else
i now know any thing beyond an oil change i will need a lawyer
i went to my dealer today and they told me we sell their cars
but we are not them
what good is a call center if i can not get a person to take responsibilty
i hope this helps other people who want their just moeny back when dealing with nissan

poor quality/poor service
I have had trouble with my damn power steering, it often locks my steering wheel. When this happens i have to turn the car off and start it again, i could do this 10 to 15 times. Every time i have brought up this problem they can’t help because they can’t see a problem. I have had it with Nissan ( spinelli Nissan ) in the west island. The worst service ever, the people were rude to my wife also. Once my lease is up i will give this car back with pleasure and shop for something better. My second car is an audi so i might just look for a VW. Never buy a Nissan, if you don’t get a murano, altima or maxima they treat you like crap. Never again i will shop at a Nissan dealership.

Terrible Customer Service
Nissan Canada absolutely does NOT care about any problems with vehicles they sell. I sent a letter to the President re my car and was just phoned by a clerk to tell me that they don't pass along letter. The lowly clerks make decisions. What a joke. I WILL NEVER EVER PURCHASE ANOTHER NISSAN CAR BASED ON NO CARE AFTER IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. They are a disgusting company!!! I've had Hondas and Toyotas but this is my first Nissan experience and NEVER AGAIN!!! DO NOT PUCHASE A NISSAN!!!

Poor customer service
Recently a recall item that I never recieved notice for, failed.
My Catalytic converter blew up and caused my engine to blow as weel sice parts of the catalyst sucked back into engine apparently a common thing that has happened and has caused the engine to catch fire which is why a recall was issued. My car never caught fire thankfully because I had my family in the car when this happened.
I was told by a Nissan rep. Daniel who was nothing but rude and ignorant, that I had to get my car to a Nissan dealer (the nearest one is approx. 450 km away) and if the part was found defective Nissan would cover towing costs. The towing company was going to charge $1300 + to tow it, I was to pay cash up front, well like most people I don't have that kind of money to hand out, so I drove 100 km rented a car dolly from u-haul, drove 100 km back put the car on the dolly and towed it with my half ton to the nearest dealer dropped it off and drove back home a total of 1029.2 km approx. $160 for gas. Well it was determined the catalytic converter was defective but Nissan will NOT reimburse me for the rental of the car dolly or my gas because I choose to tow it myself rather than pay $1300 or more to have it towed by a company. Roadside will not cover this is what I was told even though I explained I just saved Nissan over one thousand dollars. Hmmm makes a lot of sense. I was considering trading my Altima in on a new one but Nissan can keep their junk, I will be trading my car in on a new one but I assure you it will be anything but Nissan.

Poor quality
I am writing to express my complete disappointment regarding the quality and reliability of my Nissan Pathfinder. This was a brand new car, which I took in lease since May 2005. This was my first time owning a Nissan or an SUV and I was looking for something reliable.

During this lease, my expectations were shattered more than once: battery broke right after warranty period, fuel tank sending unit had to be replaced, Air Conditioning stopped working and others, this of course while maintaining a rigorous service schedule.

However the last major disappointment topped all previous ones. After noticing a vibration when automatic gear shifting would take place, I had the unpleasant experience of car stalling at a stop light. I was pushing the acceleration such that the tachometer would indicate high rpm values, but the car would barely move. I asked for an urgent appointment and brought the car to the dealership. The damage was more than surprising. The radiator broke and the coolant liquid penetrated in the transmission system mixing with the transmission fluid! I can only think of a major design flaw for such an unusual and dangerous occurrence.

I was not entirely aware how much Nissan stands behind the quality of their cars, which is why I wrote them a similar letter. I got the reply and now I know... They don’t see anything wrong will all this!

Leasing and Product quality
I leased a 2004 Nissan Altima,
Quality
when I got to the 60k the dealer said I had to change the rotor and pads cost about $700 only for front break. Later my battery died about 62k milege and the tires needed to be change.
comparing to other cars that I had with same driving it is very low quality, I change the pads on Toyota about 80k, same as the battery and tires lasted.

Service
Service department are very pushy on selling you their products. tried different dealership of nissan and all are the same.

Nissan Canada rules on leasing

I wanted to return the car 4 months earlier and pay till end of my lease end. Nissan wants to charge me $500 penalty on returning my car early.(It is very understandable Volvo, Mercedes,Toyota,Honda,Bmw does not have penalty fee if you pay till end of your lease term as i dealt with them before)

Business Manager where I leased the car admited this is redecules rules of nissan and it is a big rip off.

Nissan sales person are not very educated on leasing and financing packages neither their manager. I have been told i can return the car anytime I want without a penalty and asked them to cross over the extra fee's . they said it is negotiable when I am ready to return the car now I got traped.

Normaly a company who loosing money they are geting agressive on their non-sense rules and wants additional fees.

Even you can Not have the car lease take over by third party if 6 months or less left on your lease agreement.(it could be the same with other manufacturer too)

Now I am not happy with Nissan and do not recomend their product to anyone.

Poor quality product!
Last month I purchased/leased my 3rd vehicle from Nissan Canada in the last 3 years. With the strength of the Canadian dollar and all the talk on radio and tv (BNN-Business News Network) I decided to go to an American website and build the same vehicle that i just leased to compare prices. Thats when the utter shock and awe set in when I discovered that the same vehicle in the States would have cost me 11 Thousand dollars less to buy. I was also told by the Canadian Dealership that if I were to purchase a vehicle in the states that the warranty would not be honored here in Canada. It is absolutely sickening to see time after time that Canadians are continually being discriminated against when it comes to parity with our American counterparts. I wouldn't complain if the difference was 1 or 2 thousand dollars but after purchasing 3 vehicles, you do the math. I have already paid for this latest vehicle before I even walked on the lot. I'm sick and tired of being victimized because I'm a Canadian. The exact same vehicle coming off the exact same production line should not cost me 11 thousand dollars more to buy. The level of greed is just disgusting. I will never purchase another vehicle from Nissan.
