My wife and I had two AKC miniature pinschers, and eventually they bred. We took the pregnant female to our veterinarian at Noah's Ark veterinary clinic in Parsons, Kansas. We told the vet that we had never had a litter of puppies before, and we wanted him to do everything that was necessary to ensure the health of the mother and her puppies. He looked her over, said she was healthy, told us what to feed her. After the puppies were born we took them in for docking/cropping. About a week later they started dying. We left a message on the vet's answering machine regarding this, but were never called back. So we contacted a different vanimal hospital to try to save the remaining puppies, and were informed that the prgnant mother should have been wormed and vaccinated, and the puppies should have been wormed after birth. So they died from worm infestations. ALL of them died. We were livid, and called Noah's Ark repeatedly, with no answer, left several answering machine messages, with no return call. So I buried the puppies, and we went on with our lives.
Fast forward one year... We never received any sort of bill for the vet's "services", so we assumed that they felt bad for their negligence. Then one day a process server showed up at my door with papers. Noah's Ark was taking us to COURT for the unpaid bill accrued because of the puppies. The dead puppies had been in the ground for a full year, and the veterinarian that we got the second opinion from isn't local anymore. So we are trying to fight the small claims suit, even countering for the price of the puppies (They were AKC registered, after all.)
So if you live in the South East Kansas area, find a different vet. These people do NOT know what they are doing, and you may be risking your pet's lives by using their "services". Don't let a trusting family friend suffer because of their negligence!
