Nokia Lottery SCAM
My wife recently recieved a supposed (NOKIA PROMO) stating she had won £750, 000 GBP the equivilent of $1, 202, 745 AUD. This SMS included the payment ID number; NK729.

The SMS was sent from the number +233-204-183-990, which is from Ghana (in Africa), whist the contact number referred to in the text of the SMS is +44-702-409-5303, which is from Great Britain. This in itself is a bit sus'.

On responding to the email address supplied (ie "[email protected]") a return email supplied a "Verification Form" requesting I supply; Full Name, Winning Mobile Number, Alernative Mobile Number (if any), Network Name, Residential Address, Date of Birth, Occupation, Annual Income, Country, Nationality, Gender (Male/Female), Amount Won (In words) and Email Address.

Notice how no mention was made of the "Payment Number" specified in the original SMS? This also is a bit sus', to say the least. Then there's all the other info required. This is rapidly becoming VERY sus'.

The other content of the Email is almost identical to that found in known SCAM documents issued earlier. This information I obtained from Nokia Conversations the Official Nokia Blog site at; http://conversations.nokia.com/2009/03/06/nokia-dont-do-lotteries-beware-the-scam/

Notice the last part of the URL here? "NOKIA DONT DO LOTTERIES - BEWARE THE SCAM". That's the title of the relevant blog item from Nokia.

My Email content:
