Defective handset/No Service response
Complaint for Defective Nokia Handset, model 7610 (IMEI No.:354813017783646)

This is to bring to your notice that, I have purchased NOKIA handset from the dealer M/S Link telecom Pvt. Limited 23B/40/1A, Block-B, New Alipore,Kolkata-700053 by Invoice No.04/HS/07-08/Aug/023,dated 04/08/2007.The mobile set has not been used much from the date of the purchase. I am already having a second set (Samsung,Obsolate model, still working very well),however, I wanted to use for broadband net connection through mobile, and hence the purchase for the new set as mentioned above.
In recent past, it was observed, that sometimes the key pad failed to get released and the battery is getting heated up. We are afraid that, it may burst, as reported in newspapers and TV'.The battery used to be taken out immediately and reinstalled after lapses of reasonable time. In last occasion, the set failed to respond and first only the keyboard light lit up, and finally the set went dead. The battery was taken out as it was getting heated up again. It is a very unpleasant experience to have, a brand new handset is defective.

I met your ‘Care’ centre M/s A.M.Mobile Telecom Pvt. Ltd. G-7, Merlin Manor, 32 D.P.S Road, Kolkata-700033. The person in counter inspected the unit and issued ‘Job Sheet No.:228434038071004/10, dated 04/10/2007 and asked me to get in touch after couple of days for the delivery.

However, I received a call from them on 5/10/07, informing me that there appears to be so called ‘Liquid Damage’ after the inspection by their engineers and therefore they can only ‘Repair’ on chargeable basis or return the set. It was very shocking to learn about so called damage. This leads to major issue, if the sets are fit for tropical countries. It is an issues on the quality and reliability of the product.

I have sent letter through courier to the Manager, Customer Care, urging for his intervention. But, till date, they did not bother to reply my letter dated 08/10/2007. We never expected, this type of lackadaisical attitude to the customer from NOKIA.

I was not aware of such huge level of customer's dissatisfaction till I came across your forum. I am cursing myself for inviting trouble at the cost of hard earned money. Perhaps, NOKIA, has taken for granted, the heavy load of Global Branding image, and do not care for the customer. It is not clear from the apathy shown to customer, who is obliging whom. I, do not accept the views of care centre ,who are not entitled to provide independent findings, and are bound to be biased to keep the customer at receiving end.
I do not know how long I have to wait.
