Doesn't understand the visa rules and requirements for Malaysia
Dear Sir/Madam,

I already submitted this complain to [email protected] but unfortunately no received any response so for.

Here once again, I would like to lodge an official complain through this email message.

I am an Afghan businessman, holder of Afghanistan business passport and holding a permanent residence of United Arab Emirates currently living and doing business in Dubai. During ticket reservation my travel agent confirmed that I would be able to obtain the required visa for Malaysia upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur international airport. I have also checked online and found out that my visa can be issued upon arrival. Please click on this link for reference: http://www.malaysia.com/news/2009/09/new-visa-on-arrival-facility-for-visitors-to-malaysia/. Here it says:

Visa-on-arrival (VOA) issuance at Malaysian entry checkpoints can now be considered to citizens of Afghanistan, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka living abroad, if they hold certain types of documents. According to Tourism Malaysia’s office in Dubai, such documents included a valid permanent residence Expatriate pass, dependant pass, student pass and long-term visit pass from other countries. “VOA issuance can also be considered to citizens of Afghanistan if they hold diplomatic or official passport, ” it said. A fee of RM330 will be charged for the VOA which is valid for a maximum of 14 days.

I booked my tickets with Qatar Airways from Dubai to Kuala Lumpur and my ticket reference number is: 5N897T. I have made several business appointments and hotel reservation in Kuala Lumpur for my scheduled trip.

Qatar Airways' staff at Dubai international airport was not willing or doesn't understand the new visa rules and requirements for Malaysia and I was stopped to board in for very strange reasons. However the Malaysia airline show us hard copy of this prove which I am able to obtain my visa from Malaysia air port and I presented this prove also to your Dubai air port office and they not accepted. Finally, I have lost valuable time, all my business appointments had to be cancelled and my hotel reservation also needed to be cancelled obviously it was late cancellation and my card was charged. Obviously I am frustrated, tensed and I am asking now for compensation.

If I don't hear anything from you in the coming days, probably I would seek legal proceedings through my lawyers.

I am looking to hear you soon.

Best regards,
Noorulhaq Hashimi
