Over the Christmas holidays (2008), I purchased a "Classic Coffee Cake Pan" made by Nordic Ware Inc, 5005 Hwy 7, Minneapolis, MN 55416. The second time I used it, I removed my coffee cake from the oven and filled the pan with water to soak. When I went to wash the pan, I discovered the inside coating on the bottom of the pan had bubbled up and the finish was floating in the water. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I immediately filed a complaint on the Nordic Ware web site and have heard nothing. It's like they don't care. I think this is a real hazard to the public.
I purchased my pan from WalMart in Punta Gorda, FL. They are probably in all WalMart stores. Our local store removed them from the shelf and said they would file a report. I think Nordic Ware should recall these pans and provide a replacement to people that have experienced this same problem.
