After talking to several construction companies we picked Mike Pizzuto of Northhill Construction to build our deck for us. We want a new deck with a fire pit in the middle. Mike showed us some pictures and gave us a very aggressive price. We were told he would use the best materials and would build everything to code. He said that once he got 50% down he would start immediately. Once we paid him he disappeared for two weeks. He told us that he had a vacation scheduled. Some guys showed up and took down our deck but in the process trampled our gardens. Mike said not to worry that he would take carry of everything by the end of the project. When they started to build the deck it was smaller than we had agreed to too. Then we notice the deck material we though we were getting Trex had been replaced by something else. Mike tried to tell us Trex is like Kleenex and all plastic deck materials are the same. We knew that it not. When they installed the firepit they did it right on top of the deck material. Mike tried to tell us that its Ok because plastic deck don't burn and since it was a gas firepit it was OK. When I talked to the city I found out that Northhill Construction never took a permit for the job. When we brought this up to Mike he said it was up to us to get the permit. I couldn't believe that he was lying to us. I told him he was fired and he said that by contract he had to pay Northhill 100% of the fee or he would put a lien on our house. We ended up paying him almost all the money and then paying a contractor the city inspector told us about $5000 to fixed the shoddy workmanship.
Mike Pizzutto and Northhill Construction are ripoff artists who take advantage of senior citizens. Don't believe anything he say and absolutely don't hire them to do anything!
